Role Description The Mortgage Loan Officer is a full-time hybrid role based in Palm Desert, CA, with flexibility for some work-from-home arrangements. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting with prospective borrowers, assessing their financing needs, and guiding them through the mortgage application and approval process. The role involves originating mortgage loans, collecting and reviewing borrower documentation, coordinating with underwriting, and ensuring files meet regulatory and company standards. The Mortgage Loan Officer will communicate regularly with clients, real estate agents, and internal teams to manage timelines, resolve issues, and deliver an efficient, positive lending experience. Additional responsibilities include maintaining a pipeline of prospects, staying current on mortgage products and guidelines, and contributing to sales and service goals.
Qualifications

  • Experience as a Loan Officer or in a similar mortgage origination role, with the ability to manage a pipeline of loans.
  • Knowledge of the Mortgage Industry, including conventional, FHA, VA, and other common loan products.
  • Hands-on experience in Mortgage Lending processes, from application through closing, including documentation and compliance.
  • Familiarity with Underwriting principles and the ability to collaborate effectively with underwriting teams.
  • Strong Customer Service skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and build long-term client relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, time management, and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency with loan origination systems and standard office software; comfort working in a hybrid on-site/remote environment.
  • Relevant state mortgage licensing as required; prior experience in the Palm Desert or broader California market is a plus.
