Motion Designer

Skin + Me is a mission driven start-up with seriously big skin goals. We’re looking for an experienced Designer who specialises in Motion and Paid Ads to join our Creative & Brand Team in London. This is a hybrid working role with three days a week in our Paddington HQ (Mon, Tue, Fri) and two days remote. What you'll do: Be a champion and guardian of our visual brand identity to deliver consistently high-quality creative across all touchpoints Own motion projects from brief and initial concept through to storyboard, animation, editing and final delivery Concept and execute performance-led animations and short-form videos for our paid marketing channels, including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, PR, OOH and more, with strong hooks, clear messaging hierarchy, engaging pacing and conversion in mind. Work closely with Growth and Creative teams to understand performance data and use creative learnings to inform, iterate and improve future ads Edit and elevate UGC and creator content into engaging, polished paid-social assets. Adapt creative effectively across different platforms, placements, formats and aspect ratios Develop multiple creative iterations and variations for testing across hooks, messaging, formats, CTAs and visual treatments Balance brand consistency with performance, finding new ways to evolve and test our creative while maintaining a strong visual identity Work closely with others in the Brand & Creative Team to bring innovative ideas to the table. Design captivating assets from ideation to delivery for our organic social channels to help build a community of brand advocates Stay up-to-date with industry trends, platform behaviours, emerging technologies and techniques to consistently deliver high-quality work Who you are: These are the skills we’d love for you to have but if you don’t tick every box we would still love to hear from you if you feel you’re right for us! Strong experience within the beauty, skincare, health or wellness industries is preferable, in a D2C subscription led brand, with broad experience creating digital marketing campaigns and paid social creative. Exceptional animation, video-editing and short-form storytelling skills, with a strong understanding of pacing, hooks, messaging hierarchy and what makes performance-led advertising engaging and effective. Strong concepting skills, with the ability to take a brief, insight or performance learning and develop it into a clear creative idea through to final execution and iteration. Excellent knowledge of the full Adobe suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and After Effects, with Figma ideally, alongside strong graphic design fundamentals across typography, composition, layout, colour and visual hierarchy. Confident across animation, video editing, compositing, sound design and basic colour grading, with experience editing UGC and creator content and adapting assets across multiple formats and placements. Experience with AI-powered motion and animation tools to enhance creativity, improve efficiency, streamline workflows and explore new ways of storytelling. A highly creative, open-minded and meticulous designer who is comfortable testing and iterating ideas, balancing strong creative craft with commercial objectives and working at pace in a start-up environment. Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the confidence to present and explain creative decisions, work closely with Brand, Copy, Growth and NPD teams, and independently own projects and priorities at midweight level.
