Job Category: Academic Staff Employment Type: Regular Job Profile: Multi-functional Research Administration Manager Job Summary: Reporting to the medRISE manager, this person is a member of a team of research administration professionals who each have a portfolio of projects. This position will assist principal investigators with the planning, development, submission and administration of competitive grant proposals to a variety of federal and non-federal funding sources. This position will also provide support to principal investigators for post-award management of funded proposals. This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location. Candidates who demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities will be given first consideration Excellent written and oral communication skills Excellent organizational skills Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Ability to establish relationships and work effectively and collaboratively with faculty and staff Key Job Responsibilities: Reviews and approves programmatic transactions spanning the life-cycle of sponsored projects to ensure compliance with institutional and/or sponsor policies and procedures Responsible for marketing medRISE services and growing the medRISE office including management of the workflow tracking system and billing for services. ​ Provides training to faculty, staff, and/or administrators within the unit regarding policy, procedure, and/or execution of sponsored project administration Executes research administration operational policies and procedures including financial, administrative, staffing, and compliance on behalf of a unit Executes activities related to financial compliance, audit, or reporting on behalf of a unit Executes activities related to proposal submission, contract negotiation, and/or award setup on behalf of a unit May supervise the day-to-day activities of research administration staff ​​Manages medRISE websites, which provide grant writing resources for staff, students, and faculty and an online Grants Library Repository featuring funded grant proposals and funding opportunities. ​ Serves as a key resource to leadership and staff in the unit as well as a liaison to partners and stakeholders Participate in development of tools and resources that streamline proposal development and post award management of sponsored grants and contracts ​ Department: School of Medicine and Public Health, Office of Basic Research, Biotechnology, and Graduate Studies, Office of Research Administration The Research Administration Office, within the Office of Basic Research, Biotechnology and Graduate Studies, assists faculty, staff and student researchers with preparing research proposals, contracts and sponsored agreements. Our dedicated team of experts specializes in providing comprehensive proposal development support for large-scale and investigator-initiated projects to federal, non-federal, and industry sponsors. Compensation: The starting salary for the position is $95,000 annually; but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
