Job Description Summary

MUSC Health is seeking board-certified or board-eligible rheumatologists to join its established Virtual Rheumatology team. This fully remote opportunity allows physicians to deliver high-quality specialty care from the convenience of home while expanding access for patients across South Carolina. Job Description

MUSC Health is seeking board-certified or board-eligible rheumatologists to join its established Virtual Rheumatology team. This fully remote opportunity allows physicians to deliver high-quality specialty care from the convenience of home while expanding access for patients across South Carolina. Physicians will evaluate and manage a broad range of rheumatic and autoimmune conditions through a collaborative virtual-care model supported by the resources, technology, and clinical expertise of a leading academic health system.


Virtual Rheumatology physicians will provide complex ambulatory consultations, and some clinical guidance through panel reviews for Advanced Practice Providers. This is an exciting opportunity for rheumatologists who value flexibility, innovation, and meaningful patient impact. This physician will play an important role in strengthening a growing virtual program, improving access to specialty care, and helping shape the future of Rheumatology services at MUSC Health.

About MUSC Health Center for Telehealth

The MUSC Health Center for Telehealth uses innovative virtual-care technology to connect patients throughout South Carolina with MUSC Health providers and specialists. The Center supports a broad range of telehealth services focused on expanding access, coordinating care, and improving the health of communities, especially for patients who may otherwise face barriers to specialty care.

Recognized by the Health Resources and Services Administration as one of two National Telehealth Centers of Excellence, the MUSC Center for Telehealth also serves as the headquarters of the South Carolina Telehealth Alliance. Through research, education, collaboration, and the development of promising telehealth practices, the Center helps advance virtual care across South Carolina and contributes to improvements in the broader national telehealth landscape.

Required Qualifications

  • Board certified or board eligible in Rheumatology
  • Licensed, or eligible for medical licensure, in South Carolina
  • Telemedicine experience preferred
