About the Role
We are seeking an experienced MYOB Bookkeeper / Accounts VA to support a growing Australian business group operating across civil construction, traffic management, Indigenous business, RTO, and other entities.
The successful candidate will assist with day-to-day bookkeeping, financial administration, reconciliations, and the review and clean-up of MYOB files across multiple Australian entities. This role is suited to a bookkeeper with solid Australian bookkeeping experience who is confident working in MYOB and has strong attention to detail.
You will work closely with the Directors, Office Manager, and finance team to ensure financial records are accurate, up to date, and properly maintained across multiple ABNs.
Role Details

Key ResponsibilitiesBookkeeping & MYOB Administration
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records in MYOB across multiple entities and ABNs
- Review and assist with cleaning up existing MYOB files
- Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations
- Process bank transactions and ensure transactions are correctly coded
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Raise customer invoices and process supplier bills
- Enter journal entries and assist with monthly accruals
- Assist with month-end and year-end bookkeeping processes
- Review and correct coding errors, duplicates, and discrepancies
- Assist with maintaining accurate Chart of Accounts and financial records
Reconciliations & Financial Administration
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, GST, payroll, and other balance sheet accounts
- Assist with reviewing opening balances and identifying discrepancies
- Support the preparation of reconciliation schedules and financial workpapers
- Assist with intercompany transactions and reconciliations across multiple entities
- Help ensure transactions are correctly allocated to the relevant ABN or entity
- Assist with payroll-related bookkeeping and reconciliation of wages, superannuation, PAYG withholding, and payroll liabilities
- Support the Office Manager and Directors with general finance administration
File Clean-Up & Process Support
- Assist in reviewing and organising MYOB files following business acquisitions or ownership changes
- Help identify and correct incorrect entries and historical bookkeeping issues
- Assist with separating and organising financial activity across different entities and periods
- Maintain accurate and organised financial documentation
- Follow established bookkeeping processes and contribute ideas for improving efficiency and accuracy
Skills & ExperienceRequired
- Minimum 1+ years of bookkeeping experience
- Australian bookkeeping experience is mandatory
- MYOB experience is mandatory
- Strong experience with bank and credit card reconciliations
- Experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Knowledge of general journals, accruals, and month-end processes
- Experience working with Australian GST, BAS-related bookkeeping, payroll, superannuation, and PAYG transactions
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to identify discrepancies and investigate errors
- Ability to work independently and manage confidential financial information
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Desirable
- Experience working with multiple Australian entities or ABNs
- Experience with intercompany transactions and reconciliations
- Experience assisting with MYOB file clean-ups
- Experience working with businesses following acquisitions or ownership changes
- Experience in civil construction, traffic management, RTO, or Indigenous businesses
- Previous experience working remotely or as a VA supporting an Australian business
