National Account Manager - The Home Depot
Remote, based in the Atlanta area | 15%-20% travel
Company Overview
American Bath Group is a leading manufacturer of residential and commercial bathing products serving customers across multiple brands, channels, and product categories. The company operates through a broad manufacturing and commercial network and partners with major retailers, distributors, builders, and trade professionals across North America.
The Opportunity
American Bath Group is seeking a National Account Manager to lead the in-store relationship with The Home Depot. This remote role must be based in the Atlanta area to maintain close access to the customer and includes approximately 15%-20% travel.
The role exists to move an established account from primarily maintaining current business to creating sustained growth. The National Account Manager will serve as the primary customer leader, strengthen merchant relationships, identify new in-store opportunities, expand product placement, and improve coordination between the customer and ABG's internal business teams.
This is an individual-contributor leadership role. Success depends on direct account ownership and the ability to influence supply chain, finance, marketing, field operations, retail media, and business-unit partners without relying on formal authority.
Success in Year One
During the first year, the National Account Manager is expected to establish clear ownership of the customer relationship, improve year-over-year in-store performance, and create measurable expansion beyond opportunities already in progress.
The successful leader will build a stronger opportunity pipeline, increase ABG's physical-store presence, improve the quality and consistency of customer communication, and establish a disciplined operating rhythm across planning, forecasting, service performance, and customer reviews.
The Mandate
Transform The Home Depot store account into a merchant-led growth platform that expands ABG share, assortment, and store distribution while protecting account economics and supporting dependable execution.
The National Account Manager will personally lead the merchant relationship, annual planning, assortment and placement discussions, business reviews, forecasting, service escalation, and cross-functional account coordination. The role requires more than managing formal line-review cycles.
The successful candidate must identify and create opportunities outside standard planning windows and build enough credibility with the customer to be included when unplanned opportunities arise.
Year One Critical Outcomes
Why This Role Is Hard
The account is established, but growth cannot be achieved by protecting the current business alone. Meaningful expansion requires stronger merchant access, persuasive customer leadership, and the ability to create opportunities that are not already part of the formal planning cycle.
The role must connect customer priorities with the realities of multiple internal business units. Service, assortment, pricing, launches, displays, marketing, and field execution involve different teams with different priorities. The National Account Manager must identify risk early, establish accountability, and drive decisions to closure without direct authority over those functions.
The position requires both commercial building and operating discipline. A candidate who is strong only in relationship management or only in account administration will not be sufficient.

Experience Requirements
Why the Right Candidate Will Be Excited
This role offers the opportunity to take clear ownership of a major national retail relationship and shape its next stage of growth. The successful candidate will have room to strengthen merchant access, create new paths to market, expand ABG's store presence, and establish a more effective account operating model.
The work is visible, commercially meaningful, and connected directly to growth. It will appeal to a leader who wants to build, influence, and leave the account stronger than they found it.
Why This Role Matters
This account represents an important connection between ABG's brands, products, operating teams, and the end consumer. Stronger account leadership can improve sales performance, expand physical distribution, create new customer opportunities, and strengthen how ABG coordinates execution across its business units.
The National Account Manager will play a central role in converting customer access into sustainable growth while ensuring that commercial commitments are supported by dependable internal execution.
