National Sales Manager, Custom
Pedal Mafia | Australia (Remote / Hybrid) | 10–20% Travel
Born on the streets of Perth, Pedal Mafia was created for cyclists who demand more: more style, more performance, and more connection to the ride. Today we're a global movement of riders who merge cutting-edge design, premium materials, and a rebellious spirit into apparel built for cyclists, by cyclists.
Role Overview
We're looking for a National Sales Manager to lead and grow our Australian custom apparel division. In this role, you'll lead our custom sales team while personally landing and managing high-value partnerships with cycling teams, private clubs, and retail stores across the country.
Reporting to our COO and working closely with our global sales organisation, you'll own revenue across the entire Australian custom pipeline, from first conversation to production hand-off. You'll partner with design, production, marketing, and operations to make sure every custom kit we deliver lives up to Pedal Mafia's premium standards and hits its timeline.
This is a player-coach role for a disciplined sales leader who knows the cycling world inside and out, can mentor a B2B sales team while running their own book of key accounts, and uses data to sharpen how the team prospects and converts.
You'll:
- Drive regional growth by guiding the sales team and personally onboarding top-tier cycling teams, corporate clubs, and retail partners across Australia.
- Lead and coach the team, managing sales quotas and training your team to deliver confident, technical pitches.
- Own the custom sales lifecycle, from lead generation and product consultation through fit sessions, product selection, design briefs, and final order specifications.
- Be the technical expert clients and your team rely on, advising on garment selection, fabric technologies, chamois options, and fit profiles.
- Act as the escalation point for team accounts and the primary contact for your own key accounts, managing expectations on design possibilities and lead times.
- Audit and verify orders before they move to production, ensuring every spec is accurate and complete.
- Partner with marketing to track, measure, and report on inbound lead sources, using CRM data to assess campaign ROI and optimise the marketing-to-sales funnel.
- Keep leadership informed, providing the COO and global sales team with regular updates on team performance, account status, bottlenecks, and market trends.
- Represent Pedal Mafia at Australian trade shows, races, and industry events, generating quality leads and strengthening our ties with the riding community.
What We're Looking For
- 5–7 years of experience in sales or account management, ideally within custom apparel, cycling, or premium sporting goods.
- Extensive knowledge of the cycling landscape, including racing categories, club structures, and technical garment requirements.
- A genuine passion for cycling and active involvement in the cycling community.
- Proven ability to manage a B2B sales team while personally running a dedicated account pipeline.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort using CRM data to measure performance and guide strategy.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced pipeline.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in CRM software, Shopify, and Google Suite.
- Ability to travel within Australia for client meetings, fit sessions, and brand events.
Bonus Points If You...
- Hold a bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Have experience selling custom team kits or technical performance apparel.
- Bring an established network across Australian cycling teams, clubs, or retailers.
- Have led sales teams through periods of rapid growth.
Why You'll Love This Role
- Build something big. You'll shape the growth of our Australian custom division and have a direct hand in where it goes next.
- Lead and sell. Get the best of both worlds: coaching a team while still closing the deals that matter most.
- Live the culture. Spend your time with the teams, clubs, races, and events that make Australian cycling what it is.
- Global reach, local impact. Work alongside a global sales organisation while owning the Australian market.
- Kit you're proud of. Represent a premium brand known for design, performance, and an unmistakable point of view.
