Copilot said: Network Operations Engineer (Off-Hours) | Remote | Contract Overview We are seeking an experienced Network Operations Engineer to provide off-hours network support and execute critical infrastructure lifecycle initiatives. This role combines network operations, change execution, hardware refresh activities, and proactive maintenance to ensure a stable and high-performing enterprise network environment. This is a fully remote opportunity for a dedicated resource who can work independently during overnight hours while collaborating closely with the broader Network Engineering team. Key Responsibilities Provide Tier 1 network operations support during designated off-hours coverage. Monitor network health, triage alerts, and resolve issues using established procedures and runbooks. Execute approved network changes involving switches, wireless networking, and firewalls. Perform firmware upgrades, hardware refreshes, equipment replacements, and patching activities. Support remote site teams during network hardware installations and replacements. Troubleshoot network connectivity issues across an enterprise environment. Document incidents, changes, and resolutions with a high level of accuracy. Escalate complex networking issues to senior engineering teams as needed. Participate in daily team standups and maintain effective communication with stakeholders. Required Qualifications Hands-on experience with enterprise network infrastructure , including: Firewalls Routers Switches Wireless networking technologies Experience performing: Firewall upgrades Switch upgrades Firmware upgrades Network device replacements Strong troubleshooting experience within large-scale enterprise environments. Solid understanding of: TCP/IP DNS DHCP VLANs Routing and switching concepts Wireless networking fundamentals Experience executing changes within a structured change management process. Ability to work independently during off-hours while maintaining strong documentation standards. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. Preferred Experience Experience with enterprise networking platforms such as: Cisco Juniper Aruba Palo Alto ClearPass Comparable enterprise network technologies Previous experience supporting hardware lifecycle management and infrastructure refresh initiatives. Schedule & Training Coverage Hours: Sunday through Thursday 12:30 AM – 9:30 AM CST Training & Onboarding: Approximately the first month will be conducted during standard business hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST) to support onboarding and knowledge transfer. Attendance at daily team standups is required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Brookfield, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
