Rate: On-site 445 euros/day - 85% of the contract on customer premises at Malta

Off-site 327 euros/day - 15% of the contract for remote work within EU

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer for our client, who will join the development team in an international company closely collaborating with a major client’s IT team. This on-site position in Malta offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and multicultural environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage network topologies and cabling, monitor network infrastructure performance, and support network equipment.
• Administer firewalls and their configurations, manage reverse proxy and load balancer services, and utilize configuration management frameworks.
• Perform periodic firmware and software upgrades of network infrastructure.
• Automate processes using scripting and implement Infrastructure as Code and Software Defined Networking where possible.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot network issues.
• Identify hardware, software, and network problems, propose solutions, and conduct regular maintenance on hardware, network, and software components.
• Communicate effectively with end users and the ICT team and participate in designing and implementing solutions for replication and disaster recovery.

Requirements

• University degree combined with over 10 years of professional experience.
• Experience in system architecture design and service delivery.
• Strong background in Networking and Network Infrastructure.
• Experience in setting up and managing firewall security policies.
• Familiarity with Configuration Management Frameworks.
• Proven experience in process improvement.
• Ability to troubleshoot network issues effectively.
• Strong skills in writing detailed technical documentation, guides, and specifications.
• Excellent command of the English language.
