Role Description:

The Network Engineer is a full-time, remote role responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable network infrastructures that support client platforms and services. Day-to-day responsibilities include configuring routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs; monitoring network performance; and resolving connectivity and latency issues. The role involves performing root-cause analysis for network incidents, applying security best practices, and documenting configurations and network policies. The Network Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support deployments, integrate cloud and on-premises environments, and ensure high availability and reliability. This position also includes continuous optimization of network architectures and participation in planning for upgrades and new solutions. You will create network automations and improve observability by implementing SNMP, SYSLOG, IPFIX, Netflow and jFlow.


Be available 24x7 or network incident escalations.


Qualifications:

  • Strong Network Engineering skills, including experience with routing, switching, and implementation of network architectures.
  • Strong understanding of OSI layer and TCP/IP and be able to perform root cause analysis.
  • Proficiency in Network Administration, including configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of network devices and services.
  • Hands-on Troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving network performance, connectivity, and reliability issues.
  • Knowledge of Network Security, including Linux, firewalls, VPNs, access control, and best practices for securing network infrastructure.
  • Experience with Network Design, including planning scalable, resilient, and cloud-integrated network topologies.
  • Familiarity with major networking vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, NVIDIA) and relevant tools for monitoring and management.
  • Understanding of cloud networking concepts (e.g., AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers) is beneficial.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, Network+) and a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field are an asset.


Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIP, Fortinet certifications, Network+, or equivalent are an asset.
  • Equivalent hands-on experience may be considered in place of formal education or certifications.
