On behalf of a fast-growing, high-authority media platform covering the crypto gambling and Web3 iGaming ecosystem, we are seeking a News Writer to take lead ownership of their news and investigative reporting arm.

Our client already breaks key stories across the sector, but the objective now is to significantly scale this vertical. This is not a content mill or a high-volume SEO churning role. While you will cover breaking industry news, you will have the editorial freedom, time, and resources to dig into deep-dive investigations that go far beyond surface-level reporting.

The most compelling stories in crypto iGaming often start with a faint signal: an anomalous on-chain transaction, an unvetted streamer sponsorship, an affiliate dispute, a regulatory shift, or an anonymous tip. We are looking for an investigative mind who loves pulling on that initial thread whether it takes an afternoon, several days, or weeks of sourcing, on-chain tracing, and primary interviews to bring the truth to light.

Responsibilities

• Lead Daily Reporting: Write and publish sharp, timely news coverage spanning crypto gambling, Web3 casinos, sportsbooks, and broader iGaming developments.

• Drive In-Depth Investigations: Take leads, tips, leaked documents, and transaction data from early signal through to full, verified exposés.

• Direct Source Cultivation: Proactively reach out to founders, operators, streamers, affiliates, regulators, and players to break exclusive stories.

• Verify & Fact-Check: Rigorously validate claims, data, and sources prior to publication, ensuring impeccable editorial integrity.

• Shape the Editorial Roadmap: Pitch your own original angles, uncover underreported narratives, and help define the brand’s investigative voice and standards.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with in-house research, data, and product teams to leverage internal intelligence for stories.

Candidate Profile

• Native or Fluent Written English: Clear, compelling narrative writing style with a sharp journalistic edge.

• Investigative Rigor: Proven ability to verify facts, cross-examine data, and remain persistent when pursuing difficult stories.

• Industry Fluency: Strong familiarity with the crypto gambling and iGaming landscape (key operators, top streamers, licensing jurisdictions, and industry dynamics). On-chain analysis literacy is a distinct advantage.

• Resourceful Sourcing: Confident conducting cold outreach, asking direct questions, maintaining confidential sources, and following up tenaciously.

• Editorial Autonomy: Self-directed, disciplined, and comfortable balancing quick turnaround breaking news with multi-week long-form features.
