Salary Range: $17.00 To $20.00 Hourly
Position Summary:
The Newspaper Services Representative provides operational support services to newspaper publishing organizations nationwide. As part of the Shared Services team, this role assists publishing partners with advertising operations, customer support, and administrative services that help local media organizations focus on their editorial and revenue-generating activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technology-savvy, customer-focused, and enjoys working collaboratively in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enter and manage advertising orders in designated advertising systems.
- Coordinate ad trafficking for print and digital publications.
- Review, proof, and finalize advertisements to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Work directly with publisher sales representatives to support advertising workflows and deadlines.
- Resolve advertising-related issues and provide operational support as needed.
- Process legal notice submissions and ensure timely publication.
- Enter classified advertising orders accurately and efficiently.
- Manage obituary processing and publication requests.
- Assist with circulation, customer service, accounting, HR, and other managed service functions as assigned.
- Support customer service teams by investigating and resolving advertising inquiries.
- Communicate professionally with internal teams and external partners to ensure exceptional service delivery.
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients and colleagues in a virtual environment
- Maintain accurate records and data within company systems.
- Follow established workflows, quality standards, and deadlines.
- Utilize Microsoft Office applications and collaboration tools to manage daily responsibilities.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous process improvements.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong computer skills and comfort learning new software applications.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer service experience and a collaborative work style.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and Excel preferred.
Required Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant customer service or related administrative/order-processing experience, but 2+ years preferred.
- Experience in newspaper publishing, media operations, advertising, customer service, or related industries preferred.
- Experience with advertising order entry, ad trafficking, or publication systems preferred
