Job Description:

• Answers inbound phone calls in a polite and professional manner.

• Completes tasks from referring providers to find the next level of care for patients.

• Faxes or makes phone calls to specialists' offices and patients regarding appointments.

• Contacts insurance companies for prior authorizations and ensures referred providers are in-network.

• Mails new patient paperwork and referral information to patients.

• Contacts patients regarding any in-progress or pending referrals.

• Maintains ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation in the referral tracking database and the patient's EHR.

• Communicates with clinical staff and physicians about issues related to patient referrals or the need for further follow-up care.

• Ensures referrals are addressed in a timely, consistent, and organized manner to avoid delays in patient care.

• Completes insurance verification when applicable.

• Generates and mails self-pay letters to patients as directed.

• Provides a safe, quiet, and private work environment free from distractions.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Computer proficiency required-in Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. [Required]
• Must have knowledge of TJC requirements and local, state, and federal regulations. [Required]
• Call Center/Practice Telephonic Experience for In and Out bound calls. [Required]
• Medical Terminology [Preferred]
  
  Education:
• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
• Associate [Preferred]
  
  Work Experience:
• Previous Call Center experience or similar experience [Required]
• 1+ experience as a ma-c or licensed nurse [Preferred]
• 1+ year experience as a lead role in a medical setting or other healthcare-related role [Preferred]
• Experience in various clinical areas inpatient or outpatient practices [Preferred]

Pay Range:

$16.79 - $26.86
