Is this job info correct?

Northland Training Advisor & Electrical Tutor Looking for flexibility and variety? Work from home in Whangārei while supporting apprentices across Northland and helping shape the next generation of electricians. Enjoy the flexibility of working from home while making a real difference across Northland. Skills Group is looking for an experienced electrical professional to join our team on a permanent basis in this unique hybrid role, combining Training Advisor and Electrical Tutor responsibilities. Based in Whangārei, you'll primarily work from home while travelling throughout Northland to visit apprentices in their workplaces, build strong relationships with employers, and deliver training from regional venues when required. You'll also travel to our Highbrook campus in Auckland approximately once a month for team meetings and campus catch-ups. If you enjoy autonomy, variety, and building strong relationships, this is a fantastic opportunity to use your electrical expertise in a rewarding role that supports apprentices and helps shape the future of the electrical industry. What you'll be doing: Support electrical apprentices through workplace visits, mentoring, learner progression, and pastoral care. Deliver engaging electrical training programmes, block courses, and commercially focused short courses. Build strong relationships with employers, industry partners, schools, and community organisations across Northland. Coordinate apprentice onboarding, training agreements, learner records, and programme administration. Identify opportunities to grow apprentice numbers and commercial training across the region. Travel throughout Northland to support apprentices, visit employers, and deliver training from regional venues when required. What you'll bring: Current NZ Electrical Registration (Full Practising Licence, Inspector's Licence, or equivalent Electrical Engineering qualification). Extensive electrical industry experience and a current full New Zealand driver's licence. Based in Whangārei and willing to travel regularly throughout Northland. Experience supporting apprentices, mentoring others, or delivering workplace training. Strong relationship-building and communication skills with learners, employers, and industry stakeholders. Adult tertiary teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one with Skills Group's support. Why join Skills Group? At Skills Group, our purpose is to maximise human potential. For more than 30 years, we've partnered with learners, employers, and industry to build a skilled workforce across New Zealand. You'll enjoy the flexibility of working from home while being part of a supportive team where your expertise is valued, your development is encouraged, and your work makes a genuine difference to apprentices and employers across Northland. Benefits that back you: Health & wellbeing: Fully subsidised Southern Cross medical insurance, TELUS Health Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), and annual flu vaccinations. Leave: Birthday leave, long service leave, and enhanced bereavement leave. Financial benefits: 3.5% KiwiSaver contribution, 2% SuperLife contribution, and a $500 employee referral bonus. Learning & development: Two paid learning hours each week, LinkedIn Learning access, Future Fit development opportunities, and ongoing professional growth support. If you're looking for a role where you can combine your electrical expertise with mentoring, training, and supporting apprentices while enjoying the flexibility of working from home, we'd love to hear from you.
