About the Office of Access, Inclusion, and Compliance (OAIC) The Office of Access, Inclusion, and Compliance (OAIC) supports the Division of Extension’s strategic commitment to inclusive excellence by advancing equitable systems, strengthening relationships, and fostering belonging across the organization. OAIC partners with educators, staff, and leadership to ensure that Extension’s programs, policies, and culture reflect principles of equity, access, and accountability. The OAIC team provides consultation, training, and tools to help the Division build inclusive practices, track progress, and engage diverse communities throughout Wisconsin. Anticipated Start Date: September 21, 2026 (flexible) Anticipated End Date (If Applicable): Remote Work Eligibility Detail: Partially Remote Anticipated Hours Per Week: Minimum: 10 Maximum: 15 Schedule: • 10–15 hours per week during the academic year (flexible scheduling). • Hybrid work arrangement available; must be able to attend occasional in-person meetings on the UW–Madison campus. Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum: Minimum: $15.00 Maximum: $18.00 Number of Positions: 1 Qualifications: Employment will require a criminal background check Student must be enrolled for credit at an educational institution. Student will need to show proof of enrollment before starting. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities : Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Demonstrated fluency (speaking, reading, and writing) in both English and Hmong. • Strong cross-cultural communication and collaboration skills. • Understanding of inclusive excellence principles. • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects. • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite. • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Experience translating educational, technical, or community-facing materials. • Experience with SharePoint • Familiarity with language justice or language access frameworks. • Awareness of accessibility and plain language standards. • Experience with translation software or document management tools. • Familiarity with the cultural and linguistic diversity of Wisconsin’s Hmong communities. • Knowledge of Extension’s mission and statewide programming. Position Summary/Job Duties: • Translate Extension materials, resources, and outreach communications between English and Hmong. • Support development of glossaries or translation memory tools for consistent terminology across materials. • Review translated documents for cultural and linguistic accuracy. • Collaborate with staff to create plain language, culturally relevant communication templates. • Assist with accessibility reviews of multilingual documents and web content. • Help coordinate language access workflows and maintain OAIC’s resource library. • Support internal communication, training, or outreach efforts to strengthen awareness of language access principles.
