Job Overview Acquiring complementary businesses, complemented by organic and geographic expansion, is a critical component of our long-term growth goals and future success. In today's rapidly evolving business landscape, inorganic growth plays a crucial role in enhancing our market position, expanding our capabilities, and driving sustainable long-term value. As we pursue strategic opportunities for expansion and diversification, we are in need of a Deputy Inorganic Growth Leader to play a high-profile role in driving and executing our global acquisition strategy. This position and our acquisition initiative have the full support of the business across both Oliver Wyman and our parent company, Marsh. The role is a high exposure and global role that will support the Chief Growth Officer in guiding and facilitating the Oliver Wyman Actuarial (OWA) and Insurance & Asset Management (IAM) inorganic growth agenda. This role will be instrumental in identifying, evaluating, and integrating potential acquisition targets. The individual is responsible for identifying and researching potential acquisition targets, managing the evaluation and due diligence processes, and supporting the integration of acquired companies into the organization. The Deputy will work closely with cross-functional teams, including corporate development, finance, legal, executive, and operations, to ensure successful execution of acquisitions. This is a hybrid role that will require a presence in the office three days per week. There is no option to be fully remote. Key Responsibilities Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally, to facilitate successful deal execution and integration including: OW and Marsh Corporate Development teams OWA and IAM practice leaders and M&A designees Global and regional OW inorganic growth leaders Business Sponsors and Executive Sponsors for active processes Support the end-to-end acquisition process, including coordinating with necessary stakeholders to facilitate execution. This includes: Identify and research acquisition/investment targets across all practices and geographies Support/project manage the due diligence process on potential targets including assisting Corporate Development with financial analysis, market research, risk assessment, and negotiation Lead business case development and manage any required internal approval processes Assist in post-acquisition integration activities, including integration planning and cultural alignment Provide coaching and guidance to senior staff on how to effectively build relationships with potential targets Create and provide regular updates for OWA/IAM executive SteerCo Develop, own and maintain all related M&A materials including, but not limited to, a database of templates for: NDA Business Case Fact Sheet Information Request IOI, LOI, Transaction Agreement Integration plan and scorecard Experience Required Bachelors degree and 8+ years experience in M&A, Corporate Development or similar role. Experience working in professional services or financial services or multi-national corporate environment desirable. Knowledge of acquisition and integration concepts, practices, and procedures Knowledge of benefit and compensation programs and related compliance matters Skills and Attributes Demonstrated ability to network with senior business leaders and build strong relationships Employment history with evidence of rapid learning, high performance, and professional growth Strong written, oral, and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate to all stakeholders, both internally and externally Excellent project/time management skills, prioritization skills, and persuasive abilities Strong leadership skills with an understanding of the value of multi-disciplinary collaboration, and the ability to work effectively in a team setting and drive results Deep critical-thinking skills and problem-solving ability Highly motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and can adapt to changing priorities Ability to interpret ideas and convert them to polished presentations The applicable base salary range for this role is $150,000 to $200,000. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
