We’re creating a new “In Memory Of” area on our Wix site and are looking for a talented web developer to design and build a beautiful, scalable space where supporters can share tributes to the dogs they’ve loved and lost. If you enjoy meaningful projects with real ownership, this one matters.
What difference will you make?
Your contribution will shape a key new feature of our website, giving supporters a thoughtful way to remember their dogs and strengthening how we engage our community. The “In Memory Of” area will become a long‑term asset for SRF - improving user experience, supporting fundraising and helping us reach more dogs in need. Your work will also lay the foundations for a wider end‑of‑life support suite, including will‑writing guidance and options for owners to register their spaniels with us in advance, ensuring their dogs will be safe when the time comes. The tools you build will have a direct, lasting impact on how we support people and protect dogs across the UK.
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for a volunteer who combines technical skill with empathy and thoughtful design. You’ll be someone who enjoys creating user‑centred digital experiences and can translate ideas into clean, intuitive, accessible web pages. Because this project involves sensitive subject matter, we’re looking for someone who can balance technical problem‑solving with a gentle, respectful approach to the user journey.
You’ll need solid experience working in Wix, ideally with both design and build, and confidence integrating payments, forms and photo‑upload functionality. Strong visual design skills are important, as the “In Memory Of” area must feel warm, dignified and aligned with our brand. An understanding of mobile‑responsive layouts and accessibility best practice will help ensure the space works for everyone.
We’re also looking for someone who enjoys collaborating. You’ll work closely with our small IT team on structure and functionality, and with our comms and marketing team on design and tone. The ideal volunteer is someone who can listen, share ideas, explain technical decisions clearly and help us shape a solution that feels right for our community.
If you have experience with Wix, scalable gallery layouts, content moderation workflows or SEO tools, that’s a bonus — but not essential. What matters most is that you’re thoughtful, reliable, and keen to build something meaningful that will support people at an emotional time and strengthen SRF’s long‑term digital offering.

What will you be doing?
We’re looking for a skilled web developer to help us create a warm, dignified “In Memory Of” area on our Wix website - a space where supporters can share photos and tributes to the dogs they’ve loved and lost. You’ll work closely with our small IT team and our comms & marketing team to design and build a section that feels beautifully branded, technically sound and easy for supporters to use.
Your role will include developing the layout, integrating secure payments and photo‑upload functionality, and creating a simple moderation workflow. You’ll ensure the area is mobile‑responsive, accessible and intuitive, and you’ll advise on scalable design options such as filtering, search tools or gallery formats as the number of tributes grows. There’s also scope to explore interactive features if appropriate.
Throughout the project, you’ll collaborate with our teams to refine the user journey, ensure the design fits our brand, and make practical decisions about structure and functionality.
This is a meaningful project for someone who enjoys thoughtful, user‑centred development and wants to build something that will bring comfort and connection to spaniel owners.
