Stenberg College is currently seeking a Licensed Optician who can serve as a part-time Online Theory Instructor in our Optician Diploma (OPD) Program! This position is an exciting role that will allow you to work within our team to help educate future Opticians across Canada.

About the Role:
- Employment Type: Part-Time, Contract
- Location: Online
- Course Title and Start Date:
- DOPD120: Professional Practice & Office Procedures (November 2 – 3, 2026)
- DOPD130: Foundations of Optics (November 9 – 27, 2026)
with option of additional future contracts
- Course Delivery Schedule: The schedule will be typical 25 hours per week. Synchronous sessions are delivered Monday to Friday from 9am-12pm. The exact schedule can be discussed during the interview.
- Compensation: $40 - $45/hr.
Who You Are:
- Comfortable teaching online courses
- Completion of an accredited Optician program
- A Licensed and Practicing Optician with a minimum of two years’ experience in;
➢ Eyeglass Dispensing
➢ Contact Lens Fitting
- Automated Refraction an asset
- Intermediate computer skills (Email, Internet search and navigation, Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Extensive organizational experience
- Demonstrates confidence, positivity, and a strong work ethic
- Experience in Edging would be an asset
- Experience in fitting gas permeable lenses an asset
- Understands guidelines set out by COBC
- Passionate about investing in students and the Opticianry industry
- Completion of Adult Learning Certification is preferred.
