Company Description

DuNoMo is a B2B payments business operating across Asia Pacific as a Business Payment Solution Provider (BPSP) and Merchant of Record on Visa and Mastercard commercial card rails. We let corporate treasurers pay suppliers, statutory obligations and superannuation using a card facility they already hold, while the beneficiary is paid directly into their bank account. Our platform covers accounts payable, accounts receivable, embedded finance via APIs and a mobile app, with end-to-end reconciliation and payment automation built in, and it integrates with the ERP and accounting systems clients already run. We partner with card schemes, commercial card-issuing banks and financial institutions to improve working capital, control and cash flow visibility for businesses ranging from SMEs to large corporates. DuNoMo is live in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Malaysia, with further APAC markets planned.

Role Description

The Onboarding & Compliance Analyst, APAC is a full-time, hybrid role based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with the flexibility to work from home part of the time. This role is responsible for getting new clients onboarded smoothly and safely, from KYC and AML checks through to account setup. It also monitors daily transaction activity to make sure payments flow as expected and that unusual activity is caught early. This is a great opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented and wants to build a career in payments and financial crime compliance. The role reports to the Head of Treasury & Finance Operations, APAC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Beneficiary screening: Screen every beneficiary against sanctions, PEP and adverse media lists, and verify beneficiary bank details before payment to prevent fraud and payment redirection.
  • Payment purpose and invoice validation: Check invoices and supporting documents to confirm each payment is a genuine B2B obligation. Flag related-party, self-payment or cash-like transactions, and prepare regular reports on validation outcomes.
  • Client onboarding and KYC/KYB: Verify entities, directors and beneficial owners, and run sanctions, PEP and adverse media screening through to account setup and first live payment.
  • Ongoing due diligence: Refresh client files periodically and when ownership, directors or volume profiles change, and apply enhanced due diligence to higher-risk clients.
  • Transaction monitoring: Review daily transactions and payouts, and flag and escalate unusual patterns, duplicates or suspected fraud with supporting evidence.
  • Suspicious matter reporting: Prepare cases and evidence for the MLRO to support SMR and STR filings with AUSTRAC, BNM or MAS.
  • Record keeping: Keep complete, audit-ready records of screening, due diligence, validation and escalation decisions in line with regulatory retention requirements.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 2–4 years in KYC/AML, onboarding or payment operations within payments, banking or fintech.
  • Compliance knowledge: Practical understanding of KYB/KYC, UBO identification, sanctions and PEP screening. Exposure to BNM, MAS or AUSTRAC regimes is a plus.
  • Technical: Confident with screening tools, bank and acquirer portals and Excel.
  • Personal: Detail-oriented, organised and calm under pressure, with clear written communication and a strong sense of ownership.
