Location: Hybrid working – Birmingham office 1 day per week

Contract: Fixed-term contract for 12 months

Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week), Part-time (min 23 hours a week)

Salary: £54,000 - £59,000 per annum, pro rata

Grade: 13

We are looking for experienced Organisational Design (OD) Partners to play a key enabling role in shaping the future of our organisation. Working closely with senior leaders, HR colleagues and stakeholders across the organisation, you will support Senior Management teams in the design and implementation of organisational structures, operating models and workforce solutions that enable strategic priorities and improve organisational effectiveness.

Your Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leaders and their HRBPs to understand business priorities and translate these into effective organisation design solutions in line with overall organisation design principles
  • Conduct organisational diagnostics, analysis and impact assessments to inform decision-making
  • Provide expert advice on organisation design principles, spans of control, layers, capability requirements and workforce planning in liaison with the HRBP
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagement activities to build alignment and ownership
  • Support leaders in developing and implementing target operating models
  • Support the people impacts of change, working closely with HR and communication teams
  • Ensure organisation design capability is data-led, evidence-based and aligned with organisational strategy
  • Develop organisation design capability across leaders and colleagues through coaching and guidance
  • Work as part of the wider Organisation Design and Development (OD&D) Team to provide organisation-wide solutions as and when required

Essential Criteria

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience of organisational design and development within complex environments, including supporting organisational change and transformation activity
  • Experience working in partnership with senior stakeholders and HR Business Partners to shape and deliver people and organisational outcomes
  • Strong understanding of organisational design principles and systems thinking, with the ability to apply recognised frameworks (e.g. McKinsey 7S)
  • Ability to use data, diagnostics and insight to inform analysis, identify root causes and support evidence-based decision-making
  • Strong facilitation, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build credibility and influence at senior levels and explain complex concepts clearly and credibly
  • Collaborative and adaptable approach, with the confidence to operate in an enabling role and work through ambiguity and change

Desirable Criteria

  • Professionally qualified (e.g. CIPD) or equivalent experience, with relevant organisational design practitioner qualifications
  • Lean Six Sigma or equivalent qualifications
  • Systems Thinking Practitioner qualifications
