Pharmacy Technician | Specialty Pharmacy | Hybrid Schedule ✅ Hybrid schedule after training ✅ $23-$25/hr pay range ✅ Monday-Friday hours with excellent work-life balance ✅ Break into or expand your specialty pharmacy experience ✅ Work directly with patients and healthcare professionals ✅ Collaborative, mission-driven team environment ✅ Opportunity to convert to a permanent position ✅ Gain experience in patient access, insurance verification, and specialty medication management What You'll Do As a Patient Care Coordinator/Pharmacy Technician, you'll serve as a trusted resource for patients receiving specialty medications by: Contacting patients and caregivers to coordinate medication shipments and refill requests Building strong, compassionate relationships through exceptional customer service Supporting medication adherence and helping patients stay on therapy Processing new prescription orders and refill requests Verifying insurance coverage, benefits, and payment options Documenting patient information, concerns, and treatment-related updates Coordinating with pharmacists, nurses, providers, and physician offices to support patient care Tracking shipments, deliveries, and order status updates Maintaining accurate records throughout the prescription fulfillment process Assisting with pharmacy operations and medication fulfillment activities Utilizing pharmacy systems and Microsoft Excel to support workflow management and reporting Ensuring patients receive medications and supplies accurately and on time What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Active Illinois Pharmacy Technician License National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) Minimum 1 year of pharmacy technician experience High School Diploma or GED Strong communication and customer service skills Solid attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications Specialty pharmacy experience Patient access or reimbursement experience Prior authorization knowledge Call center experience Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply Experience working with pharmacy or healthcare systems Work Environment & Schedule This position begins with onsite training in the NW suburbs of Chicago. Once training is successfully completed, team members transition into a hybrid schedule. Training Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30 AM-5:00 PM Regular Schedule: Monday-Friday Schedules can vary between 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM or 8:30 AM-5:00 PM Hybrid Model: 2 days onsite 3 days remote Pay: $23-$25/hr Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elk Grove Village, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
