Outreach Coordinator

Position Summary

We are seeking an energetic, organized, and community-focused Outreach Coordinator to help strengthen our presence throughout the Houston area and surrounding communities.

The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with community organizations, schools, healthcare providers, social service agencies, referral sources, and other community partners. This position will also identify and attend community events, health fairs, resource fairs, festivals, and other outreach opportunities that connect individuals and families with behavioral health services.

The ideal candidate is outgoing, professional, dependable, comfortable networking with others, and able to independently identify and pursue new outreach opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, schools, healthcare providers, social service agencies, referral sources, and other community partners.
• Identify new opportunities to increase awareness of Empowerment Services and the behavioral health services we provide.
• Attend community events, health fairs, resource fairs, school events, festivals, networking events, and other outreach activities on behalf of the company.
• Research and identify upcoming community events and partnership opportunities throughout Houston and surrounding areas.
• Contact event coordinators to inquire about vendor, exhibitor, sponsorship, community partner, and resource-table opportunities.
• Educate community members and referral partners about Empowerment Services and available services.
• Distribute approved marketing materials and community resource information.
• Build relationships with potential referral sources and maintain consistent follow-up.
• Generate appropriate referrals through community outreach, networking, and relationship building.
• Maintain accurate records of outreach contacts, events, referrals, follow-up activities, and community partnerships.
• Maintain and update scheduled outreach events and commitments in the company's designated calendar or tracking system.
• Communicate regularly with leadership regarding outreach activities, upcoming opportunities, referrals, challenges, and results.
• Assist with planning and coordinating company outreach events and community initiatives.
• Represent Empowerment Services professionally and positively within the community.
• Work collaboratively with intake, clinical, administrative, and leadership teams to support successful connections between referrals and services.
• Follow company policies regarding confidentiality, HIPAA, professional conduct, and appropriate communication of behavioral health information.
• Perform other outreach and community-engagement duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, social services, behavioral health, business, or a related field preferred.
• Previous experience in community outreach, marketing, behavioral health, healthcare, social services, community engagement, admissions, or referral development preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Comfortable initiating conversations and developing new professional relationships.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Organized and able to manage multiple events, contacts, and follow-up responsibilities.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently while remaining accountable for outreach goals.
• Comfortable using email, online calendars, spreadsheets, and other basic business technology.
• Must be dependable and able to represent the organization professionally in community settings.
• Knowledge of the Houston area and surrounding communities is strongly preferred.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel locally to community events and outreach locations are required.

Schedule and Availability

This position requires flexibility. Community outreach opportunities may occur during regular business hours as well as occasional evenings and weekends. Candidates must be willing to attend scheduled community events and outreach activities based on organizational needs.

Preferred Candidate

We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with people and being active in the community. The strongest candidate will be proactive rather than waiting for outreach opportunities to be assigned. They should be comfortable researching opportunities, making calls, introducing the organization to potential partners, following up consistently, and developing relationships that lead to meaningful community connections and referrals.
