Show job description

Are you a structured, curious and ambitious student who would like to gain first-hand insight into leadership, business and the maritime industry?

We are looking for a Personal Assistant to support the Regional Manager for DNV Maritime in Northern Europe in a part-time role for 30% of working time.

This is not a traditional administrative assistant role. You will work closely with the Regional Manager and support a broad range of activities, from preparing meetings and presentations to coordinating events, travel and stakeholder activities.

The role offers a unique opportunity to work close to senior management and gain exposure to an international business environment and the maritime industry.

What you will be doing

Your responsibilities will vary depending on priorities and may include:

  • Preparing and coordinating meetings, customer visits and events
  • Developing briefing material, talking points and background research
  • Supporting the preparation of presentations, speeches and internal/external communications
  • Coordinating activities and following up with internal and external stakeholders
  • Supporting travel planning and logistics
  • Helping structure agendas, meeting material and follow-up actions
  • Researching companies, industry topics and relevant stakeholders ahead of meetings
  • Supporting selected regional initiatives and projects
  • Helping ensure that important activities, deadlines and follow-ups stay on track
  • Taking on ad hoc tasks related to the Regional Manager's activities and priorities

This is an opportunity to get much closer to real business and leadership than in a typical student position.

You will gain insight into how a large international company works with customers, industry stakeholders, management, events and strategic priorities. You will also build experience in executive communication, stakeholder management and the maritime industry.

The position is part-time and temporary, aimed at 30% working time, and we aim to offer flexibility around studies and exams.

DNV is an Equal Opportunity Employer and gives consideration for employment to qualified applicants without regard to gender, religion, race, national or ethnic origin, cultural background, social group, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, age or political opinion. Diversity is fundamental to our culture and we invite you to be part of this diversity.

Who are we looking for?

We believe you are currently completing a Bachelor's or Master's degree, for example within business, economics, communication, political science, international relations, maritime, engineering studies or a related field.

More importantly, you are:

  • Highly structured and reliable
  • Proactive and comfortable taking initiative
  • Curious and quick to understand new topics
  • A strong communicator, both written and verbally
  • Comfortable working in both Norwegian and English
  • Able to produce clear and professional presentations and written material
  • Confident interacting with people across different levels and organizations
  • Discreet and comfortable handling confidential information
  • Flexible and able to balance several activities at the same time
  • Experience with PowerPoint and Microsoft 365 is an advantage.

Security and compliance with statutory requirements in the countries in which we operate is essential for DNV. Background checks will be conducted on all final candidates as part of the offer process, in accordance with applicable country-specific laws and practices.
