We are looking for a Panel Shop Manager to lead our panel shop operations and play a pivotal role in the successful execution of our projects. In this role, you'll take ownership of the full panel lifecycle — from design through fabrication, quality assurance, and delivery, while managing a team, a budget, and the overall performance of the department. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on precision, takes pride in quality craftsmanship, and enjoys building a strong, motivated team around them. What You'll Do Lead and guide the panel shop team in day-to-day activities, ensuring seamless coordination between design, fabrication, testing, and delivery — rolling up your sleeves to actively participate when needed. Oversee the panel design process, working closely with the design team to translate technical requirements into efficient, effective panel layouts. Manage the fabrication process, ensuring every panel is built to the highest standards of quality and technical compliance. Implement rigorous quality assurance protocols so every panel leaving the shop meets or exceeds industry standards. Manage panel shop operations in alignment with allocated budgets, and own the department's P&L. Mentor and guide panel shop resources across all aspects of their work; run regular project/task meetings and help your team clear obstacles. Foster a positive, fulfilling work environment where people want to grow and stay. Stay flexible with travel, up to approximately 25%. Experience Managerial or supervisory experience within panel fabrication, electrical panel building, or a related manufacturing field. Track record overseeing teams through the full build cycle — from design intake to final delivery — including budget and P&L accountability. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, panel layouts, and technical specifications; familiarity with relevant industry standards (e.g., UL508A, CSA, NEC) is an asset. Technical Skills Strong knowledge of panel design and fabrication processes, quality assurance practices, resource management, and budget oversight. Comfortable working with shop equipment and safety systems, with a strong safety-first mindset. What Makes You a Great Fit Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills. A natural problem-solver with sharp attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to quality. Effective organizational and multitasking capabilities, with sound judgment under pressure. A coaching mindset, genuinely invested in developing your team. We are committed to the principals of equal employment opportunity and to fostering a workplace where all Grantekians feel respected and included. To ensure a fair and consistent hiring process, applications are reviewed through a blend of thoughtful human evaluation and trusted AI-assisted tools. This role is being posted to fill an existing vacancy within the team.
