The Opportunity:

We’re seeking an experienced online investigator fluent in Swahili and English with deep, first-hand knowledge of Swahili online communities. You should understand not only the language but also the cultural nuances, slang, idioms, and online customs that shape how information is shared. Native speakers are strongly preferred.

What You Will Do:

• Search and analyze Swahili - and English-language public and encrypted platforms (WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, Reddit, TikTok, Facebook, X/Twitter, and emerging networks) for client-related risks.
• Identify threats to intellectual property and report findings clearly and accurately.
• Recognize cultural and linguistic context that may impact interpretation of findings.
• Adapt quickly to new tools, trends, and platform updates.

Qualifications:

• Native or near-native fluency in spoken and written Swahili, plus fluency in English.
• First-hand familiarity with Swahili online spaces, including regional dialects, slang, memes, and cultural references.
• Proven skill in online research, including social media, forums, and encrypted communications.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
• Self-sufficiency and ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Must live in the United States.
