Our client is a 100% employee-owned management consulting firm that improves operational performance in asset-intensive industries, including oil and gas, mining, power generation, heavy manufacturing, and aerospace. Its coaches work on site at the front line, and it sells measurable operating results rather than advisory hours. The firm is now building a dedicated nuclear energy practice and is looking for the Partner who will lead it.

With plant restarts, license extensions, multi-unit refurbishments, and SMR programs moving into construction, the nuclear sector’s biggest constraint for the next decade is executing work predictably at scale. That is this firm’s specialty. This is a commercial role built on nuclear credibility: you will open the relationships, sell the work, and own the result.

What You’ll Do

  • Open and hold senior relationships with nuclear fleet operators, owners of refurbishment and new build programs, reactor vendors and developers, and tier one engineering and construction contractors.
  • Originate and sell the work yourself. Engagements typically open with a short, evidence-based diagnostic that sizes the gap between current and achievable performance; you are accountable for converting those diagnostics into multi-month implementation engagements.
  • Shape, scope, and price engagements across four areas: online work management and maintenance, refueling outage execution, refurbishment and life extension, and new build (including SMR construction and operational readiness).
  • Own the commercial result for your portfolio and stand behind outcomes the client’s own finance team will recognize: outage duration, schedule compliance, backlog age, forced loss rate, unit cost, first time quality, and safety performance.
  • Stay close to delivery. Work with the coaching teams on site and help the firm adapt its methodology to nuclear’s licensing basis, safety culture, work protection, and configuration management requirements.
  • Represent the firm across the nuclear industry through executive relationships, industry forums, and conferences in North America, the UK, Europe, and the Middle East.
  • Build the practice: help shape the firm’s nuclear go-to-market strategy, positioning, and future hiring as the sector grows.

What You Bring

  • Senior accountability in nuclear operations or nuclear project delivery, on the owner, contractor, or consulting side. Relevant roles include site vice president, plant manager, maintenance, work management, or outage director, chief nuclear officer, refurbishment or new build program director, construction or commissioning leader on nuclear projects, or partner in a nuclear-focused performance improvement practice.
  • Current nuclear experience, generally within the last five years, given how much the sector’s agenda has shifted since 2023.
  • Relationships you can open at the site VP, CNO, outage director, and major project director level, and the standing to be recognized as someone who has carried that accountability.
  • A real desire to sell. This is a commercial role built on technical credibility, and you will be measured on origination and on converting diagnostics into implementation work.
  • Fluency in nuclear operating culture: nuclear safety as the non-negotiable priority, human performance, regulator and INPO/WANO expectations, and the ability to talk about productivity without putting safety culture in play.
  • Hands-on execution credibility. You have changed how supervision plans and manages work at the front line, not just written recommendations.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to client sites. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field.

Compensation

$200,000 to $220,000 base plus bonus, with a path to equity ownership, commensurate with experience.

LOCATION

Remote, global. Candidates may be based in Canada, United States, UK, Europe, or the Middle East, near a major airport. Extensive travel to client sites.
