Our work depends on a Patient Safety & Compliance Analyst I joining our team to lead IT professionals supporting the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA).

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) aims to improve health outcomes by enhancing access to quality services, developing a skilled health workforce, and implementing innovative programs that benefit geographically isolated, economically or medically vulnerable populations. HRSA focuses on increasing health equity and strengthening local health systems through initiatives such as community health centers, the Organ Procurement & Transplantation Network (OPTN), the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program, and support for maternal and child health.

Role Overview:

We are seeking an early‑career professional (with up to 4 years of experience) to support Patient Safety, regulatory compliance, documentation, and operational processes. This role is ideal for individuals interested in patient‑safety workflows, technical writing, policy review, and structured data validation.

The ideal candidate will have direct experience supporting OPTN (Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network) activities, including data validation, compliance documentation, or transplant‑related reporting. Experience may come from federal contracting, healthcare analytics, informatics, or clinical quality roles.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Safety & Regulatory Support

  • Support case review processes, safety‑related data validation, and accuracy checks across clinical and operational datasets.
  • Validate transplant‑related or OPTN‑related records against federal guidelines, ensuring accurate and compliant reporting.
  • Contribute to surveillance, monitoring, and safety compliance documentation.

Technical Writing & Documentation

  • Develop audit‑ready documentation for regulatory reviews, patient‑safety tracking, and internal quality processes.
  • Prepare clear summaries, compliance briefs, and policy‑driven documentation for leadership.

Policy Review & Implementation

  • Assist in reviewing patient‑safety, quality, and regulatory policies and translate them into actionable workflows.
  • Support internal process improvements aligned with federal and institutional policy changes.

Data Entry, Quality Assurance & Reporting

  • Conduct data entry, reconciliation, and validation across multi‑source healthcare systems.
  • Support recurring safety and compliance dashboards using tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or Epic.
  • Identify data discrepancies and contribute to root‑cause and corrective‑action analyses.

Cross‑Team Collaboration

  • Partner with clinical, safety, quality, and analytics teams to support safety initiatives.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Health Administration, Public Health, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare data validation, compliance, patient safety, informatics, or quality assurance.
  • Hands‑on experience supporting the OPTN program or transplant‑related federal reporting workflows is required.
    • Experience must include:
      • Transplant data validation
      • OPTN modernization support
      • Compliance‑driven reporting
      • Structured transplant case/data review
  • Strong technical writing skills and ability to produce audit‑ready documentation.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, CMS, HEDIS, or other regulatory reporting frameworks.
  • Experience with SQL, Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Epic, Salesforce, or similar platforms.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust federal background investigation
  • Location: Rockville, MD (Hybrid: 2 days on-site per week; must be within commuting distance)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with multi‑system data reconciliation or upstream/downstream data mapping.
  • Exposure to federal healthcare programs, safety surveillance, or quality reporting.
  • Experience supporting automation or process‑improvement initiatives.
