The Challenge (Job Summary) : The Patient Services Coordinator is responsible for assisting patients and providers by answering medical questions, chart management, and running patient reports. Set schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday: 8am-8pm. Must be able to work weekends. Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions: Answer patient calls after hours, relay patient messages, and communicate urgent patient concerns with providers as needed. Document thoroughly within patient charts of our electronic medical record system Assist our clinicians with patient reports Assist with prior authorizations, referrals, and medical records Complies with all HIPAA regulations and policies Other duties as assigned What you need to succeed: Knowledge of the health care field. Knowledge of information that must be conveyed to patients and their families. Skill in performing tasks correctly. Skill intact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions. Skill in understanding patient education needs, and effectively sharing information with patients and their families. Skill in identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor. Ability to be flexible and handle changing priorities. Ability to communicate clearly. Ability to project a pleasant and professional image. Ability to plan, prioritize and complete delegated tasks. Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring for others. Ability to apply written instructions and standardized work practices. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with physicians, co-workers, patients and patients’ families. Education and Work Experience: High School Diploma Required Minimum of one year work experience in public contact job.
