About the Company
Better Payment Network (BPN), Incubated through Binance Yzilabs, is a next-generation stablecoin settlement network designed to power cross-border payments in emerging markets.
Rather than serving consumers directly, BPN connects licensed financial institutions on both sides of cross-border payments:
- PSPs in markets such as Hong Kong and Singapore serving large numbers of cross-border merchants;
- Banks, PSPs, VASPs and stablecoin institutions in emerging markets providing local collection, FX and settlement capabilities.
BPN enables businesses across cross-border e-commerce, trade, logistics and digital entertainment to collect local fiat, move value globally through stablecoins, and settle into their preferred currencies.
Today, BPN connects 50+ financial institutions across 20+ markets and serves thousands of cross-border SMEs. https://www.bpn.finance/
Role Overview
This is not a general operations role. We are looking for a Network Payment Operations Lead to build the operational infrastructure that makes this network safe, reliable and scalable.
We need someone who has operated real payment and settlement flows and understands the full lifecycle of money — from collection and booking through RFI, refunds, FX, reconciliation and final settlement.
You should be able to answer, for any transaction:
- Where is the money? Has it actually settled? Can it safely move forward? Do all parties agree on its status?
- More importantly, you should be able to turn operational incidents into process controls and system-level safeguards.
What You Will Own
- Own the end-to-end operational lifecycle across collection, RFI, refunds, FX and settlement.
- Manage abnormal credits, returns, account freezes, settlement failures and reconciliation breaks.
- Ensure upstream institutions, BPN systems and downstream counterparties maintain consistent transaction and fund status.
- Establish daily reconciliation, balance verification, refund confirmation and pre-settlement controls.
- Define clear escalation, suspension and recovery rules for high-risk payment events.
- Manage partner SLAs, cut-off times, refund timelines and settlement cycles.
- Drive financial institutions to properly use refund, reconciliation, status-query and exception-notification APIs.
- Participate in new corridor and partner launches to identify fund-flow risks before production.
- Lead RCA after material incidents and work with Product and Engineering to turn operational failures into system controls.
- Build and develop the Payment Operations team and reduce reliance on Product or senior management for routine operational issues.
What We Are Looking For
- We strongly prefer candidates with hands-on experience in areas such as:
- Cross-border payments, merchant settlement or global payouts
- Acquiring, virtual accounts, wallets and clearing/settlement
- Bank Transaction Banking, Cash Management or Payment Operations
- PSP Settlement Operations or Reconciliation
- E-commerce or payment-platform fund operations
- Stablecoin on/off-ramp, OTC settlement or VASP payment operations
The key requirement is direct exposure to real money movement.
- You should instinctively recognize risks such as:
- Transaction status and actual fund status not matching
- A refund occurring upstream while downstream funds remain available
- API success without actual settlement
- System balances failing to reconcile with partner balances
- Funds being used for FX or payout before they are genuinely settled
You do not need to write code, but you should be able to translate these problems into clear state definitions, controls, SLAs, exception rules and product requirements.
When something goes wrong, simply escalating to the partner is not enough. You should be able to determine where the money is, what the financial exposure is, whether further movement should be stopped, and what needs to change to prevent recurrence.
Strong Plus
- Experience in Brazil, Mexico, LatAm or other emerging-market payments
- PIX, virtual accounts or local collection infrastructure
- Experience handling material payment losses, duplicate payments, missed refunds or settlement discrepancies
- Experience with payment ledgers, transaction state machines or balance systems
- 24/7 payment operations or major incident management
- Professional English for working directly with overseas financial institutions
What Success Looks Like
- We are not looking for someone who manages payment operations by adding more manual processes.
- We want someone who can turn repeated exceptions into standard processes, controls and eventually system automation.
- The goal is not simply to process payments. It is to make sure money moves through the BPN network safely, correctly and at scale.
