Compensation: Competitive Basic Salary

About the role

The Payroll Accountant is responsible for end-to-end payroll administration, employee compensation accounting, payroll compliance, tax reporting, payroll reconciliations, financial reporting support, BOI reportorial compliance, audit readiness, budgeting support, workforce cost analysis, and payroll decision support. The role serves as a strategic partner to the Accounting & Finance Manager by providing timely payroll insights, analytics, reconciliations, and compliance support.

Key responsibilities

Payroll Administration & Processing

  • Manage regular, special, off-cycle, and final payroll processing.
  • Maintain payroll registers and supporting schedules.
  • Validate attendance, overtime, leave, incentives, deductions, and adjustments.
  • Process reimbursements, salary advances, and payroll corrections.
  • Maintain confidential employee payroll records.

Employee Compensation & Benefits Administration

  • Administer employee compensation transactions and reimbursements.
  • Review loans, HMO deductions, withholding taxes, and statutory deductions.
  • Process final pay and separation-related payroll requirements.
  • Support employee benefit payout computations.

Payroll Accounting & Financial Reconciliation

  • Reconcile payroll records to accounting records and general ledger balances.
  • Prepare payroll journal entries and payroll-related account reconciliations.
  • Investigate payroll variances and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support payroll accrual and liability accounting.

Financial Reporting & Annual Reporting Support

  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare payroll schedules for financial reporting and audits.
  • Assist in annual financial statement support and management reporting.
  • Prepare workforce cost analyses and payroll expense summaries.




Board of Investments (BOI) Reportorial Compliance

  • Lead the preparation of payroll-related schedules, supporting documents, and manpower reports required for annual and periodic BOI reportorial submissions.
  • Prepare and validate employee headcount reports, compensation schedules, labor-cost analyses, and payroll summaries required for BOI compliance reporting.
  • Reconcile payroll records, manpower reports, financial records, and supporting schedules to ensure consistency and accuracy of information submitted to BOI.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources, Operations, and Finance teams to gather and validate employee and payroll-related information required for BOI submissions.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and audit-ready payroll documentation supporting all BOI filings and reportorial requirements.
  • Monitor BOI compliance deadlines and ensure timely completion and submission of all payroll-related reportorial requirements.
  • Assist the Accounting & Finance Manager in responding to BOI inquiries, compliance reviews, validation requests, and regulatory assessments.
  • Analyze manpower growth, payroll costs, compensation trends, and employment-related metrics relevant to BOI reporting requirements and management decision-making.
  • Support the preparation of schedules and documentation required to substantiate employment generation, labor-cost data, and compensation information reported to BOI.

Tax Compliance & Statutory Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with BIR, DOLE, SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG requirements.
  • Support annual tax annualization.
  • Prepare payroll tax schedules and support BIR Forms 2316 and 1604-C requirements.
  • Monitor regulatory updates affecting payroll

Budgeting, Forecasting & Decision Support

  • Prepare payroll funding forecasts and workforce cost projections.
  • Support payroll budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Prepare payroll analytics, cost analyses, variance reports, and management presentations.
  • Provide payroll insights and recommendations to support management decision-making.




Audit, Process Improvement & Technology

  • Maintain audit-ready payroll documentation.
  • Support external audits, BIR audits, and LOA requests.
  • Implement payroll process improvements and automation initiatives.
  • Utilize AI-powered tools to enhance productivity, reporting, and analysis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Accounting Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of payroll accounting, payroll administration, or finance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine payroll, taxation, and labor compliance.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience preparing or supporting BOI reportorial requirements and regulatory submissions.
  • QuickBooks Certification is a strong advantage.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online/Desktop for reconciliations and financial reporting.
  • Certification or training in Microsoft Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar AI platforms is highly preferred.
