About the role: We are looking for a Payroll Assistant to support day-to-day payroll activities for a U.S.-based client. The role will assist with employee records, payroll data, reconciliations, and other routine payroll processes, while working closely with stakeholders in the United States. This position requires strong attention to detail, organization, and fluent English for daily communication. Work model: Hybrid or remote, based in Curitiba Employment type: Part-time Key Responsibilities: Assist with the preparation and processing of payroll for employees in the United States. Review and maintain employee and payroll data, including hours worked, compensation changes, deductions, and time-off records. Perform payroll reconciliations and help investigate discrepancies when needed. Respond to payroll-related inquiries and coordinate with internal teams to resolve questions or issues. Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation according to established procedures. Assist with payroll taxes, benefits deductions, garnishments, and other related items as applicable. Update, validate, and extract information using payroll and HR systems. Collaborate with U.S.-based stakeholders on ongoing payroll activities. Qualifications: Fluent English , with strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience in payroll, HR operations, finance, accounting, or a related administrative function. Familiarity with payroll processes and strong attention to detail when handling employee and financial data. Intermediate Excel skills , including formulas, filtering, sorting, lookups, and data reconciliation. Experience using payroll, HRIS, ERP, or similar business systems. Ability to handle confidential information and work accurately within established processes and deadlines. Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with international stakeholders. Experience supporting U.S. payroll processes or working with U.S.-based clients is a plus. Familiarity with multi-state payroll, payroll taxes, garnishments, benefits deductions, PTO, or year-end payroll processes is a plus. Knowledge of platforms such as ADP, Workday, UKG, Paychex, Paycom, Paylocity , or similar systems is a plus.
