Payroll Specialist

As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for processing payroll accurately and on time using AFAS. You will work closely with HR and Finance to ensure payroll, pension administration, and payroll-related reporting are handled correctly and in line with Dutch regulations.

This is a full-time position based in Dordrecht, with the option to work from home one day per week.

Responsibilities:

• Process monthly payroll in AFAS for both blue- and white-collar employees.
• Ensure salaries, overtime, allowances, offshore compensation and expense claims are processed correctly and on time.
• Keep employee and payroll data up to date in AFAS.
• Manage pension administration and maintain contact with pension providers.
• Prepare payroll reports and provide payroll-related information to the Finance team.
• Ensure payroll activities comply with Dutch legislation, tax regulations and applicable CAOs.
• Support audits by providing payroll records and required documentation.
• Be the first point of contact for payroll-related questions from employees and managers.
• Help improve payroll processes and make the best use of AFAS.
• Work closely with HR and Finance to ensure smooth payroll operations.

Requirements:

• MBO+ or HBO level education, preferably in Payroll Administration, HR, or a related field.
• Previous payroll experience within the Netherlands, ideally within the offshore, marine, or project-based sector.
• Hands-on experience with AFAS Profit is essential.
• Good knowledge of Dutch payroll legislation, tax regulations, and pension schemes.
• Experience processing payroll for offshore personnel, seafarers, or internationally mobile employees is an advantage.
• Able to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
• Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English.
