Payroll Specialist

We're a growing managed payroll provider that partners with businesses across multiple industries, and we're looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist who enjoys solving problems, building relationships, and delivering exceptional client service.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, "client-facing" environment and has experience managing complex payrolls - with Customer Service focused attitude.

• Experience with a Managed Payroll Provider, PEO, HCM, or HRIS organization is strongly preferred.
• Hybrid Schedule: 3 days per week onsite in Evanston, IL | 2 days remote

What You'll Do

• Full-Cycle Payroll – Process payroll from start to finish for multiple clients with a high level of accuracy.
• Multi-State Payroll – Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Client Partnership – Build strong relationships with clients by providing responsive support, answering payroll questions, and serving as a trusted resource.
• Problem Solving – Research and resolve payroll discrepancies while delivering outstanding customer service.
• Compliance & Reporting – Audit payroll data, maintain accurate records, and prepare reports as needed.
• Payroll Systems – Utilize Paycor and other payroll technologies to process payroll, maintain employee records, and troubleshoot issues.

What We're Looking For

• Required: 3+ years of payroll processing experience with hands-on multi-state payroll expertise.
• Preferred: Experience working for a Managed Payroll Provider, PEO, HRIS, HCM, or payroll services organization.
• Payroll Knowledge: Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Client-Focused: Excellent communication skills with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
• Detail-Oriented: Able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Tech-Savvy: Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and payroll software (Paycor experience is a plus).
