Payroll Specialist

• 12-month Full-Time Contract
• Hybrid working, mix of office and working from home

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team on a 12-month term contract. Reporting to the Payroll Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate, compliant and timely payroll processing, while contributing to continuous improvement across systems and processes.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Perform Superannuation payment processing, including validation, reconciliation, and timely submission.
• Prepare, review, and lodge Single Touch Payroll (STP) submissions in accordance with ATO requirements.
• Validate payroll-related General Ledger (GL) reports and investigate variances.
• Support payroll balance sheet reconciliations, including payroll clearing accounts, employee deductions, superannuation, payroll tax, and other payroll liabilities.
• Prepare and lodge payroll tax returns across relevant jurisdictions.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding payroll-related matters.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, including Superannuation Guarantee, Single Touch Payroll (STP) and Payroll Tax requirements
• Proven experience using SAP HR/Payroll systems
• Experience performing payroll-related General Ledger reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
