Supporting Organizational Success Through Accurate Payroll Management

Our organization is committed to maintaining efficient, accurate, and reliable payroll operations that support employees and contribute to overall organizational success. As a Payroll Specialist, you will play an important role in managing payroll processes, maintaining accurate employee compensation records, and ensuring payroll activities are completed efficiently and in accordance with applicable policies and regulations. This is a remote position based in New York.

What Your First Months Will Look Like

During your initial 1-month probationary period, you will become familiar with the organization's payroll procedures, employee records, payroll systems, and internal processes. You will assist with processing payroll accurately and on schedule, reviewing employee time and attendance information, maintaining payroll documentation, and addressing payroll-related questions.

You will work closely with Human Resources, Finance, and other internal departments to verify employee information, resolve discrepancies, and ensure payroll records remain accurate and up to date. You will also help maintain confidentiality when handling employee compensation, tax, banking, and other sensitive payroll information.

What You Bring to the Role

  • Experience in payroll processing, payroll administration, accounting, finance, or a related field.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately review and process payroll information.

  • Familiarity with payroll systems, accounting software, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Excel.

  • Understanding of payroll procedures, employee compensation, deductions, taxes, and applicable payroll requirements.

  • Ability to reconcile payroll records, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues in a timely manner.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.

  • Ability to handle confidential employee and financial information with professionalism and discretion.

  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with HR, Finance, and other team members.

Compensation

The hourly rate for this position is USD $65–$95 per hour, depending on qualifications, experience, and applicable organizational compensation policies.
