ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Payroll Specialist for our Global Business Services Center in Barcelona, you will be responsible for managing payroll master data for Spain and Portugal, ensuring that all payroll processes are executed accurately, on time, and in full compliance with local legislation. You will play a crucial role in guaranteeing that payroll operations run smoothly and deliver high-quality results for our employees across multiple countries.
As part of our new team, you will also ensure full legal compliance with all relevant regulations, while proactively identifying opportunities to improve service quality and process efficiency within your scope..
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare payroll master data incl. time management data for all employees within Spain and Portugal, ensuring accuracy and timely transmission of the data to the external payroll provider
- Process and communicate all payroll updates on high level or accuracy and attention to detail of payroll input
- Acts as the first point of contact for Payroll enquiries and cases
- Collaborate with several internal and external stakeholders (e.g. HR teams, external payroll provider, Finance department, employees, etc.), provide excellent customer service, payroll knowledge, and meet all required SLAs
- Own all payroll activities (Payroll input, payroll output, GL file…)
- Support in the creation of KPIs for payroll accounting
- Run recurring and/or adhoc reports, checking data and formatting appropriately to ensure they are suitable for stakeholders
- Keep up to date on regulation changes for specific supported locations ensure accuracy and service to customers
- Submit proposals on processes, assists with team projects, recommend innovative approaches, and collaborates with others to further develop the payroll function
- Work within your team to a global standard procedure to ensure cross-country back-up and peer checks are completed, highlighting issues, and identifying trends
- Participate in internal projects that the company can assign in order to implement new tools and/or processes
ABOUT YOU
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in HR & Payrolling in a similar HR Global Business Services function
- Experience with outsourced Payroll processes beneficial
- Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite and ideally of SAP or any other HR system
- Advanced knowledge of Excel required, other reporting knowledge is a plus
- Knowledge of Spanish and Portuguese labour legislation and payrolling tasks
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently under tight deadlines and challenging, everchanging conditions
- Analytical, adaptive, and proactive personality
- Strong communication and customer engagement
- Interest in working in a project environment and contributing to payroll change projects
