Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Payroll Systems Administrator to join a well-known, fast-growing organisation with operations across Australia. This permanent role will see you supporting the ongoing performance, optimisation and stability of payroll and workforce systems within a large, high-volume environment. Based in the Melbourne CBD, the role offers a flexible hybrid working model with 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home.


The Opportunity

In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring payroll systems operate effectively and reliably, while supporting the broader payroll function with system administration, troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
You’ll work closely with Payroll, HR and IT teams to resolve system issues, maintain system integrity and contribute to ongoing optimisation, upgrades and transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day administration and support across payroll and workforce systems
• Monitor payroll systems to ensure stability, functionality and data integrity
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues impacting payroll processing and pay close
• Maintain system configurations, employee data, workflows and payroll-related settings
• Support system testing, upgrades, enhancements and implementation activities
• Investigate payroll system errors and work with internal teams and external vendors to resolve issues
• Assist with system reconciliations, reporting and data validation
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, system functionality and automation
• Support continuous improvement and payroll transformation initiatives
• Work closely with Payroll, HR and IT stakeholders to ensure systems meet operational requirements
• Maintain system documentation, processes and procedures

About You

• Previous experience in a Payroll Systems Administrator, Payroll Systems Analyst or similar payroll systems-focused role
• Strong hands-on experience working with payroll systems, ideally PayGlobal
• Good understanding of end-to-end payroll processes and how payroll systems support payroll delivery
• Experience working within a large, complex or high-volume payroll environment
• Exposure to system implementations, upgrades, testing or optimisation projects
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and confidence working with payroll data
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across Payroll, HR and IT teams
• Comfortable working in an environment focused on continuous improvement and system enhancement
