PCB Layouter (f/m/x) Radar (80% Remote)

The Radar Hardware PCB Layouter supports the development of various hardware variants and radar-based prototypes. You will translate circuit diagrams, design specifications and mechanical constraints into high-quality PCB layouts and coordinate technical details closely with the responsible hardware developers. In doing so, you will take into account electrical, thermal, mechanical and manufacturing requirements and ensure that documentation is traceable and that manufacturing data is ready for release.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Creating and revising PCB layouts for various radar variants and radar-based prototypes in Altium Designer
  • Translating circuit diagrams, component placement, stack-up, design rules and routing specifications into a production-ready PCB design
  • Layout of complex signal areas, in particular radar/RF, high-speed SerDes, power and mixed-signal circuits
  • Coordination of the layout with hardware development, mechanical engineering, simulation, manufacturing and external PCB service providers
  • Conducting and documenting placement, layout and release reviews, as well as systematically incorporating the review findings
  • Verification of compliance with project-specific design rules, interfaces, clearances, impedance specifications and mechanical constraints
  • Creation and maintenance of the necessary manufacturing and assembly data, including Gerber/ODB++, drilling data, pick-and-place data and drawings
  • Support with PCB manufacturing enquiries, prototype assembly, fault analysis and design optimisation
  • Ensuring that layout activities and approvals align with the agreed project milestones
  • Early escalation of technical or scheduling deviations and development of suitable proposed solutions
  • Organised filing, version control and documentation of all layout data

Education / Experience

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, further training as a state-certified technician, or an equivalent qualification
  • Several years’ practical experience in professional PCB layout, ideally in the automotive, radar or high-speed electronics sectors
  • Excellent knowledge of Altium Designer and experience in handling complex multilayer printed circuit boards
  • Experience with high-speed, RF/microwave, mixed-signal and power layout, as well as EMC-compliant design
  • Knowledge of typical PCB manufacturing, assembly and testing processes, as well as Design for Manufacturing and Design for Test
  • Experience of collaborating with hardware developers, mechanical design engineers, PCB manufacturers and assembly service providers
  • A structured, meticulous and quality-oriented approach to work, with a high degree of personal responsibility
  • Good communication skills and confidence in conducting technical reviews and preparing documentation
  • Good knowledge of the MS Office suite and collaboration via Microsoft Teams
  • Fluency in German and business-level English are essential.
