Job Description LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY. This role is hybrid in the Oakland office Tuesday–Thursday, 8am–5pm (on-site), with remote work on Monday and Friday. Equipment: A PG&E laptop is expected; if there are delays, a Virtual Desktop may be used on a personal or supplier-provided device. In-office work will have a fully configured workstation; for remote days, the home workstation is the worker’s/supplier's responsibility (except for the PG&E laptop). The PMO Operations Analyst will support PG&E’s multi-year “Propel” program, a major business and IT transformation migrating from SAP ECC to a greenfield, clean-core SAP S/4HANA across Finance, HR, EHS, Supply Chain, and Work & Asset Management. The program is entering its third year, transitioning from enterprise to detail design for the first of four major deployments, and is scheduled to complete in 2031. The role works collaboratively with leaders and teams across the program to forecast, manage, status, and mitigate issues related to cost, schedule, resources, methodology, and tools spanning several hundred internal and external resources. The role will directly support the PMO Director and coordinate with the System Implementation (SI) partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC). Top priorities: - Ability to handle multiple, concurrent tasks with varying time sensitivities efficiently. - Accuracy and attention to detail to report Propel’s overall status and project health to leadership. - Strong written and verbal communication skills for large audiences. Key responsibilities: - Program execution and metrics: Support weekly, monthly, and phase execution status meetings; facilitate leadership meetings leveraging Jira, Power BI dashboards, and other tools aligned to Agile and Lean principles; collaborate with team leaders to extract insights from complex, high-volume data. - Sourcing and contracting, including invoice verification: Support contract management with multiple consulting vendors; work with PG&E Sourcing tools and processes to create, extend, and modify Statements of Work for 15–20 vendors. - Program dependency management: Identify and manage dependencies and potential collisions with other PG&E IT projects; identify SMEs for deep dives to ensure accurate sequencing. - Resource onboarding and offboarding: Support rapid and accurate enrollment and roll-off of employees and consultants to ensure reporting accuracy and cost control. - Townhalls and orientations: Organize agendas and cross-program content for all-team townhalls; provide Propel overviews to new team members on methodology and phase deliverables. - PMO Director support: Fulfill dynamic requests such as new KPI metrics, presentations, meeting facilitation, staffing forecasts or gap analysis, risk mitigation, and process improvements. Additional notes (from hiring context): - Previous experience interfacing with PWC is a plus. - The role supports the PMO Director on the SAP implementation. - A spotlight call is scheduled on 12/19. Required skills: - Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks with shifting priorities and due dates. - High attention to detail for accurate updates and reporting from PG&E systems (Planisware, Ariba, Jira, MS Project, Excel, Sourcing tools). - Data analysis: Independently analyze, reconcile, and report data across multiple sources using Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI. - Organizational skills and strong communication: Explain performance variance, ask insightful questions, present alternatives, and create clear visual representations of ideas, trends, and variances. Desired skills: - Large enterprise IT program experience and familiarity with cross-department processes and information needs. - Financial forecast support for software services and multi-year vendor planning. - SAP/ERP implementation project experience; understanding of Waterfall and Agile lifecycles and team roles. - Software proficiency: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, Jira; extensive use of Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint; ability to create compelling presentations and documents. - MS Project: Create/modify/analyze large resource-loaded plans. - Power BI and/or Power Apps; SharePoint or similar document management tools. Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or Business Administration/Management Information Systems. - Working knowledge of financial and accounting concepts. Work experience: - 10+ years in large software programs and/or project experience.
