Job Description Title: Expert Project Manager. Location: Remote within Northern CA with monthly on-site meetings (or as needed) at Oakland General Office (OGO) Campus. Prefers local candidates but open to non-local candidates who can travel for periodic onsite meetings. Client laptop provided only if candidate lives within the client's service territory; non-local candidates must have their own device or vendor-provided device to start. Responsibilities: Manage multiple large-scale, highly complex projects (approximately $5M labor budgets and around 10 FTEs) by coordinating a team of Senior Project Managers. Support PMO leadership to optimize resource allocation. Determine budgets and staffing for business cases. Submit PMA and PM performance assessments for project stage gates, mid-year, and year-end reviews. May be asked to take on challenged projects and closely supervise incumbent PMs. Serve as SME for project methodologies and financial analytics. Actively mentor PMs and PMAs. Requirements: BS in Computer Science or equivalent. 8+ years of IT project management experience with a focus on staffing/resource management. Proficiency with PDM and PPMC tools. Experience managing 30+ FTEs as part of a single 12+ month project. Experience delivering 5+ projects with at least $5M labor budgets each and leading 5+ PMAs and 2 PMs from planning. Proficiency with client satisfaction metrics, project statistical and variance analysis. Strong estimating, scope and risk management, and quality assurance reviews/inspections. PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent preferred. Utility-specific experience desired: Electric Operations within a utility; Asset Work Management (Distribution Pole, Transmission Tower, Substation); SAP PM, SAP EAM, GIS; experience in the EGI Program; understanding of utility work management from customer request to electric grid interconnection; familiarity with SAP, Customer Web Portal, CC&B, GIS, and Documentum.
