Hiring Range: $25 - $30 per hour This is the pay range Caltrol reasonably expects to offer at the time of posting. The actual base pay offered will consider internal equity, geographic region, skills, qualifications, experience, and position requirements. Additional Compensation Considerations Relevant predictive maintenance certifications, such as vibration analysis, ultrasound, infrared thermography, lubrication, laser alignment, or other reliability-focused credentials, may influence compensation placement within the hiring range. Certifications are considered alongside years of experience, technical proficiency, equipment diagnostic expertise, industry knowledge, and overall performance to support a comprehensive and equitable compensation assessment. Work Environment, Travel, and Physical Requirements This field-based position is performed primarily from a home office and at customer sites. Customer environments vary and may be indoors or outdoors, and may be loud, hot, or cold. Required personal protective equipment may include safety shoes, gloves, hearing protection, and safety glasses; Caltrol provides required PPE. Approximately 70% travel is expected across Caltrol’s service territory, including Arizona, Nevada, and California. Travel may include Bakersfield, the California Central Valley, Northern California, and occasional overnight stays. The role also requires the ability to drive or fly to customer sites, navigate industrial environments, climb or bend as needed, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. What You'll Do Collect vibration and condition-monitoring data on rotating equipment at customer sites. Support predictive maintenance programs through visual inspections, detailed documentation, and the use of reliability hardware and software. Work closely with Machinery Analysts and Senior Analysts on diagnostics, laser alignment, on-site balancing, and troubleshooting activities. Communicate clearly with customers, analysts, and service managers regarding schedules, site conditions, technical concerns, and improvement opportunities. Participate in phone consultations, on-site meetings, and customer reliability initiatives. Safely and professionally operate company-provided tools, equipment, and service vehicles. Maintain accurate schedules, service documentation, and timekeeping records. Continuously expand your expertise through hands-on field experience, advanced training, professional development opportunities, and industry-recognized certifications. What You’ll Bring High school diploma or equivalent. At least two years of experience in industrial mechanical, electrical, maintenance, or reliability work. Experience with rotating equipment or strong mechanical aptitude gained in an industrial or shop environment. Ability to work independently, manage a field-based schedule, and communicate professionally with customers and teammates. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat. A suitable home workspace with reliable high-speed internet. A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record, as determined by company insurance and motor vehicle record requirements. Predictive maintenance or vibration analysis certification, such as Category I or II. Additional experience maintaining or operating rotating equipment in industrial or shop settings.
