Remote position - On-Call - Spokane, WA As a Peer Support Specialist at Excelsior Wellness, you play a crucial role in our mission to promote mental, emotional, and physical well-being in the community. You bring your lived experience and a deep understanding of the challenges individuals face in their journey to wellness. Your role is to provide peer support, empathy, and encouragement to individuals who may be experiencing mental health or substance use issues. Your daily interactions with our clients make a significant impact by offering them hope, connection, and the knowledge that recovery is possible. Your role requires active listening, compassion, and the ability to foster a non-judgmental, supportive environment. You collaborate closely with our clinical and counseling teams, contributing your unique perspective and insights to enhance the quality of care we provide. Your role is instrumental in helping our clients regain control of their lives and work towards their wellness goals. Responsibilities: • Provide peer support and a safe, non-judgmental environment for clients. • Actively listen to clients' experiences, challenges, and goals. • Offer empathy, encouragement, and practical strategies for coping and recovery. • Collaborate with the clinical and counseling teams to enhance client care. • Foster a sense of belonging and community among clients. • Participate in team meetings to share insights and updates. • Review client progress and provide ongoing support. • Continuously develop your peer support skills through training and self-improvement. • Assist in the development of recovery-focused initiatives and programs. • Contribute to the evaluation and improvement of peer support services. • Maintain documentation of client interactions and progress. • Perform general administrative support and other duties as assigned. Requirements: • Lived experience with mental health or substance use challenges and a strong commitment to recovery. • Completion of a recognized Peer Support Specialist training program or certification preferred (or within 90 days) • Strong communication and active listening skills. • Empathy and the ability to build trust with clients. • Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with clinical and counseling professionals. • Dedication to breaking down stigma surrounding mental health and substance us This is a non-benefited position.
