About the role

Want to kick off your career in People with a fast-growing business that’s doing things differently? Join Superscript as our People & Culture Graduate Intern. You’ll get stuck into something new every day.

This is a broad, varied role at the heart of how Superscript runs. You’ll provide essential day-to-day support to our team, keep things organised and help make sure work gets done well and on time.

You’ll work closely with our People team and colleagues across the business. You’ll take ownership of a range of admin and coordination tasks and get involved in projects, events and ad-hoc pieces of work.

It’s a great opportunity for someone early in their career who is organised, works hard and is curious about how a People team supports a growing business. You’ll be an important extra pair of hands, and you’ll learn a lot along the way.

What you'll get up to:

You’ll work closely with our People & Culture Leader, and our Leadership & Talent Leader, supporting them and teams across the business.

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support, taking routine tasks off the team’s plate so they can focus on strategic priorities.

  • Manage diaries, schedule meetings and coordinate workshops and internal sessions.

  • Keep documents, trackers and records organised, accurate and up to date.

  • Handle confidential information carefully and professionally.

  • Take ownership of tasks from start to finish, following through on actions and meeting deadlines.

  • Help colleagues joining the business get off to a great start, from welcome packs to first-day logistics.

  • Be a friendly point of contact for day-to-day queries, finding the answer or the right person.

  • Help organise team events, socials and company-wide activities.

  • Work with colleagues across the business to keep things running smoothly.

  • Support the admin behind key employee milestones, including onboarding, probation reviews, employee changes and leavers.

  • Track probation dates and send reminders, so reviews and paperwork happen on time.

  • Help record and monitor absence, keeping records accurate and flagging anything that needs follow-up.

  • Update employee records and prepare standard letters and documents.

  • Confidently handle colleague questions about these processes, and know when to pass something on.

  • Help prepare reports, data, presentations and internal communications.

  • Keep templates, guidance and process documents up to date.

  • Spot ways to make our processes simpler and more efficient.

  • Pick up ad-hoc projects and be willing to get stuck in wherever an extra pair of hands is needed.

About you:

You’re at the start of your career and keen to build it in People and HR. You don’t need previous office experience. We’re looking for someone organised, hard-working, inquisitive and eager to learn.

You might be a recent graduate or you might be switching direction. Perhaps you’ve built your skills through part-time work, volunteering, university societies or study.

  • A genuine interest in people and in creating a great experience for colleagues.

  • A great work ethic: you’re reliable, you take ownership and you see things through.

  • Strong organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to juggle several tasks at once.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • An inquisitive mind: you ask good questions and want to understand how and why things work.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Confidence speaking with colleagues at all levels, with discretion and good judgement around confidential information.

  • Good IT skills, including Google Workspace or Microsoft Office.

  • The ability to work independently while knowing when to ask for help.

  • Enthusiasm for learning, taking on feedback and developing your skills.

What you'll learn:

Because this role is so varied, it’s the perfect introduction for anyone looking to kick off a career in People. You’ll finish this internship with a strong foundation and real, hands-on experience across the function.

  • What it takes to truly support people in a business, from everyday queries to key moments like joining, changing roles and leaving.

  • An introduction to core HR processes, including onboarding, probation, absence and employee changes.

  • Exposure to recruitment strategy and how we attract and hire great people.

  • Exposure to learning and development, and how we help our people grow.

  • Exposure to teams across Superscript and the chance to learn what they do.

  • Practical admin, coordination and project skills you can take anywhere.

  • Confidence working with data, reports and presentations.

  • Support and guidance from experienced leaders who want to see you grow.

  • The chance to get involved in wider projects and initiatives as your confidence builds

In return, we offer you:

  • A competitive salary and the ability to grow your career

  • 25 days holiday - so there’s plenty of time for work, rest and play

  • Hybrid way of working for the perfect work / life balance

  • Vitality private health and dental insurance

  • Added benefits including competitive pension and salary sacrifice

  • Full access to Spill, our mental health platform

  • Cycle to work scheme

  • Fun and modern office environment with regular team social events

  • City of London location
