As we continue to scale, we’re looking for a sharp, empathetic People Experience Partner to step into a 12-month maternity leave cover, build instant trust with our leaders, and help us navigate complex people dynamics with a cool head. The 12 month engagement can either be full or part time, depending on your seniority / experience level. What You'll Actually Do This is true Business Partnering. You won't be bogged down processing paperwork all day, you will partner directly with around 30 managers and leads to coach them, navigate change, and keep our people at the heart of every decision: Strategic Business Partnering & Leadership Coaching: Serve as a trusted advisor to leads across the business. You’ll coach them through performance dynamics, team structures, and capability growth, holding them accountable while uplifting their leadership confidence. Change Management & Sound Communications: Partner with leaders on organizational changes, building pragmatic change management plans and robust communication schedules to keep stakeholders informed and aligned. Pragmatic Employee Relations (ER): While ER isn't 100% of the job, your solid grounding in employment law will give you the confidence to assess risk, guide leaders through complex edge cases, and uphold procedural fairness. Employee Experience & Continuous Improvement: Leverage employee insights and pulse feedback to identify improvement opportunities, ensuring our workplace decisions align with our core values and people principles. What You Bring to the Table We respect expertise, give you autonomy, and value solutions over rigid rules. You’ll thrive in this role if you bring: PEx / HR Business Partnering Track Record: Proven experience operating as an HRBP/PEx Partner, ideally within a fast-moving, scaling, or founder-led business environment. Leadership Coaching & Influence: Exceptional communication skills with a track record of building instant trust, influencing without authority, and coaching leaders through delicate scenarios. Calm Triage & Resilience: The ability to keep a cool, clear head when an unexpected, high-stakes people issue lands on your desk (or Slack channel!), triaging priorities seamlessly. Pragmatic Problem Solving: Solid employment law/ER fundamentals paired with the flexibility to adapt policies for unusual scenarios or bespoke team dynamics without losing sight of fairness. Change Management Capability: Practical experience designing change management and stakeholder comms strategies to roll out initiatives smoothly. Why Join PaperCut?
