See something that should exist? Build it.
See a better way? Do it.

At Terrific, every role directly impacts how we grow from product to revenue to customer experience. We’re building the next generation of social commerce through live shopping powered by real-time data and AI.

And we believe customer data should belong to the brands who earn it — not third-party platforms.

PEOPLE & OPERATIONS LEAD – LATAM
Mexico City (preferred) · Full-time Contract · Hybrid
Operations · People · Talent · AI
Start date: November 2026
See a process that lives in someone’s head? Write it down.
See a team that needs to exist? Build it.
At Terrific, we’re building the next generation of social commerce — helping brands turn content, creators, live experiences, and AI into commerce they own.
We’re building our Latin America team on the ground: an in-person sales team in Mexico City, integration engineers across the region, account leads for fashion and beauty, and a bootcamp that turns graduates into operators.
We’re looking for a People & Operations Lead to make all of that run.
This is not an HR role in the traditional sense. It’s the operating spine of a region: hiring, onboarding, contracts, the rhythm of the team, and the bridge between LATAM and headquarters.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Terrific is a global company, with teams in Israel, the United States, Europe and Latin America. LATAM is where we’re growing fastest.
Today, hiring, onboarding, contractor agreements, payment inputs, equipment and the day-to-day of a distributed team run through a small headquarters team working across time zones. That works for five people. It does not work for fifteen in Mexico City and thirty across the region.
You’ll own how LATAM runs: from the first email to a candidate, to a productive teammate, to a clean monthly close with Finance. You’ll work directly with the CEO, the President and the regional commercial leadership, and you’ll build the systems the region will use for years.
If you like being the person things actually get done by, this role gives you unusual room to make an impact.
WHAT YOU’LL OWN
Running LATAM hiring end to end in our ATS (Lever): reviewing inbound, sending pre-screens, grading replies, scheduling with hiring managers, keeping every candidate answered within 48 hours.
Sourcing when inbound isn’t enough: LinkedIn, referrals, former marketplace and social-commerce seller-acquisition teams, university pipelines in Mexico City.
Onboarding every LATAM hire: contractor agreement, equipment, tool access, HRIS record, first-week plan, bootcamp enrollment.
Contractor administration across Mexico, Argentina, Brazil and Colombia: agreement templates, invoicing cadence, payment inputs to Finance, local compliance basics.
The Mexico City base: workspace, in-person rituals, events, travel, and visitors from headquarters.
The performance rhythm: monthly reviews in our HRIS actually happening in LATAM, 1:1 cadence, exits handled cleanly and on time.
Compensation benchmarks and offer packaging for LATAM roles.
The operating numbers: headcount, hiring funnel, time-to-hire, time-to-productive, cost per hire — reported weekly to management.
The playbooks: hiring, onboarding, contractor admin, offboarding. Written once, reused every time.
Being the local point of contact for the LATAM team and the bridge to headquarters in Tel Aviv.
You won’t be expected to do everything alone. You will be expected to take ownership, bring the right people together and move the problem forward.
WHO YOU ARE
You’ve run people operations or general operations in a startup or fast-growing company in Latin America, and you were the person things got done by.
You’re comfortable with the unglamorous parts: contracts, invoices, spreadsheets, calendars, chasing people who owe you an answer.
Recruiting doesn’t scare you. You’ve screened candidates, run processes, and closed offers, and you can tell a strong salesperson from a good talker in a twenty-minute call.
You write clearly in Spanish and English, and you’re good on the phone.
You can run five processes at once, and you’re direct enough to tell a founder when one of them is broken.
You don’t need permission to fix things. You do communicate what you fixed.
HOW YOU’LL USE AI
Terrific is AI-native by default. We don’t treat AI as a separate initiative or an occasional productivity tool. We use it as part of how we hire, onboard, document and improve our work.
In this role, you’ll use AI to:
Screen applicants against role criteria and draft pre-screen emails.
Summarize and grade candidate replies before a human reads them.
Draft contracts and offers from approved templates.
Build onboarding checklists, reminders and automations.
Keep hiring-funnel data current without manual entry.
Answer the team’s admin questions faster than a ticket queue would.
We’re interested in what you can build with AI — not whether you use a particular tool.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
At least three years in people operations, talent, HR or operations roles, with part of it in a startup or scale-up.
Hands-on recruiting experience: screening, scheduling, pipeline management, offers. Experience with an ATS (Lever, Greenhouse or similar) is a plus.
Experience with contractor or employment administration in Mexico. Argentina, Brazil or Colombia is a plus.
Comfortable with numbers: headcount, funnel, costs, compensation.
Strong written and spoken English. Native or professional Spanish. Portuguese is a plus.
Fluent with the tools: Google Workspace, an HRIS, an ATS, spreadsheets and AI tools.
Based in Mexico City, or able to be there several days a week.
Experience supporting a sales team, or working in a company that sells to brands, retailers or media, is a strong advantage.
SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
In your first months, you will:
Get every LATAM applicant an answer within 48 hours, with pre-screens going out the day a candidate is prequalified.
Hire, onboard and make productive the Mexico City sales team, on a documented plan.
Put in place one contractor agreement template per country and one invoicing cadence, with zero surprise payments.
Complete the HRIS for LATAM and get monthly reviews happening on time.
Build the LATAM hiring dashboard: open roles, funnel, time-to-hire, cost per hire.
Leave playbooks for hiring, onboarding and offboarding that someone new could run.
Make headquarters stop being the bottleneck for LATAM.
Success is not following a process perfectly.
Success is leaving us with a better process than the one you joined.
WHY THIS ROLE IS DIFFERENT
Most HR and operations roles support a company that’s already built.
This one builds the region.
You’ll work directly with the CEO, the President and the regional commercial leadership. You’ll see every hire, every contract and every number. How LATAM runs will be your design, and as LATAM grows, this seat grows with it.
REQUIRED
Based in Latin America. Mexico City strongly preferred.
Available for a full-time, exclusive independent-contractor engagement.
Professional fluency in English. Native or professional fluency in Spanish.
At least three years in people operations, HR or operations, including hands-on recruiting.
Able to work with an international team across time zones (Israel, United States, Europe).
Terrific operates as a global company, and English is our primary business language. Interviews, documentation and regular internal communication will be conducted in English.
COMPENSATION
$1,500–2,500 USD/month base, full-time contract, depending on experience.
This is a full-time contract position with a fixed monthly base. Specific targets and terms will be defined clearly as part of the engagement.
This is an exclusive full-time position and is not compatible with concurrent full-time employment with another company.
