UL Solutions is focused on making the world a safer, more secure and sustainable place. As a professional services company, our success is based on the technical expertise of our 15,000 employees across 35+ countries.

We are seeking an experienced People Operations Partner on a Fixed Term basis to support employees and managers throughout the employee lifecycle while delivering exceptional employee experiences across Italy and the Nordics. This role is responsible for managing HR operations processes, employee transactions, onboarding, offboarding, payroll and benefits administration, case management, and employee support activities. The successful candidate will provide service-oriented support across the employee lifecycle while taking ownership of more complex HR processes and a broader regional scope. This role applies strong working knowledge of HR operations to manage core processes, identify improvement opportunities, and support more efficient, consistent service delivery.

The People Operations Partner keeps employee experience at the centre, approaching each interaction with professionalism, sound judgment, and a commitment to helping employees feel valued and supported.

Key Responsibilities

  • HR Transactions and Data Management. Independently manage and resolve moderately complex employee lifecycle transactions, including documentation, system updates, and approvals. Ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with local and global requirements while maintaining oversight of data integrity, audits, and quality assurance activities, as well as ownership of employee data accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality.

  • Employee Support and Case Management. Provide responsive support to employees by addressing a broad range of HR inquiries and managing Tier 2 ServiceNow tickets within established SLAs. Serve as a trusted escalation point for Associate-level team members, offering guidance on case complexity, process interpretation, and judgment-based decisions.

  • Employee Journeys and High-Touch Experience Delivery. Independently manage onboarding, offboarding, HR-managed leaves, and global transfer journeys in line with global standards and local requirements. Deliver a high-touch experience by guiding employees and managers through complex scenarios, proactively monitoring progress, resolving issues, identifying delays or gaps, and supporting employees and managers throughout the experience.

  • Payroll and Benefits Administration Support. Manage and review payroll inputs, including monthly changes and new hire documentation, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to internal payroll teams. Oversee benefits administration activities such as enrolments, terminations, renewals, annual requirements, vendor coordination, and local benefits execution. Partner closely with HR Business Partners, Payroll, Benefits, HRIS, Legal, and Finance to resolve issues, clarify ownership, and improve operational handoffs.

  • Audits and Surveys. Support and participate in internal and external audits and survey requests by ensuring accurate, complete, and timely delivery of employee data and documentation. Apply an understanding of compliance requirements to maintain consistency and mitigate risk.

  • Process Improvement and Documentation. Proactively identify recurring issues, gaps, and inefficiencies, recommending and supporting improvements to enhance operational effectiveness. Contribute to the development and refinement of standard operating procedures, knowledge articles, and documentation, and support system enhancements and testing from an operational perspective.

  • Reporting and Project Support. Support reporting and analysis of service delivery metrics to identify trends and inform improvements. Contribute to HR projects and initiatives, including process optimisation, system enhancements, and operational transitions, partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to improve service delivery.

Required

  • University degree in HR Administration, Business Administration or a related discipline, or equivalent years of experience
  • Generally 4 plus years of HR operations, shared services, or generalist experience
  • Strong working knowledge of employee lifecycle processes, HR policies, and operational risk, specifically in Italy
  • Demonstrated ability to apply judgement, manage complexity, and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience contributing to process improvement initiatives, with an interest in automation, simplification, and modern HR operations
  • Strong customer service mindset with clear, confident communication skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and remain effective in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Comfort working across HR systems and data, with the ability to learn and apply new tools and technologies
  • Fluent in English and Italian

    Preferred

  • Experience with Oracle HCM.
  • Experience with ServiceNow.
  • Payroll and benefits administration experience.
  • Experience with HR process improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
