Performance Marketing Specialist, Mobile App & Web (m/f/d)

Full-time, 38.5 hours per week · Austria · Remote or from our Vienna office

We are looking for a performance marketer with 2 to 5 years of experience whose core strength is mobile app user acquisition. App UA is where most of our daily work sits, so this is the part we will look at closely. The web side belongs to the job as well, and you will run both across your accounts.

About Scalista

Scalista GmbH is a Vienna-based performance marketing agency, Google Premier Partner and Meta Business Partner. We plan, run and optimise paid campaigns on Google, Meta, Apple Search Ads, TikTok, Snap and programmatic app networks including Moloco, Liftoff, AppLovin and Unity, for mobile apps and for websites.

Most of our clients are in the gaming and iGaming sector (real-money and social casino), alongside clients in tourism, e-commerce and B2B. We work across Europe and internationally.

We are strongly client-oriented. Long-term relationships matter more to us than quick wins.

We are a small team with a very flat hierarchy and English as our working language. There is no account-manager layer between the client and the work: the person managing the campaigns is the person the client talks to.

What you will do

• Plan, launch and scale mobile app user acquisition across Google App campaigns, Meta, Apple Search Ads, TikTok, Snap and programmatic networks such as Moloco, Liftoff, AppLovin and Unity

• Steer campaigns on cohort economics rather than surface metrics: installs and cost per action next to D7 and D30 ROAS, retention and payer conversion

• Own the app measurement setup together with the client: MMP configuration in AppsFlyer or Adjust, SKAdNetwork and Meta AEM, conversion value schemas, Google Play referrer and deep links

• Run the web side of your accounts as well: Google Ads Search, Performance Max and YouTube, Meta, and the GA4, Google Tag Manager and consent setup behind them

• Own budgets, pacing and targets, and steer target CPA and target ROAS so campaigns are limited by the right lever

• Drive creative testing together with our team: hooks, formats and localisations, each batch with a clear hypothesis

• Write the weekly and monthly client reports: what changed, how the KPIs developed, why, and what we do next

• Communicate directly with your clients, with no layer in between, and always work in their interest: honest recommendations, clear reasoning, and the option you would pick if the budget were your own

• Represent Scalista towards our Google and Meta partner teams and other vendors

• Act as deputy on a colleague’s accounts so client work never stops when someone is away

What you bring

• 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience managing paid campaigns, with a substantial share of it in mobile app user acquisition. This one matters to us more than the rest of the list

• Hands-on work with an MMP such as AppsFlyer or Adjust: you have configured events, checked attribution windows and chased down discrepancies yourself

• A working understanding of how iOS measurement actually behaves: ATT, SKAdNetwork, conversion values, modelled data, and why app numbers never fully reconcile

• Comfort reading cohort and LTV data rather than only platform dashboards. You can look at an account top-down, spot what actually moved the total, and explain it in plain language

• Experience on the web side with Google Ads and/or Meta, plus working knowledge of GA4 and Google Tag Manager, or the curiosity and technical confidence to get there quickly

• Very good written and spoken English. Any additional language is a plus. Our internal and client working language is English, and German is not a requirement

• You are based in Austria and entitled to work here. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens need no permit; for all other nationalities a valid Austrian work permit has to be in place

• Honest, direct communication. We report weak numbers as clearly as strong ones, always with a diagnosis and a next step

• Comfortable working on accounts in the gaming and iGaming sector

Nice to have

• User acquisition experience in gaming, social casino or real-money gaming

• Incrementality testing, geo testing or media mix thinking beyond last-click

• App store optimisation, and an eye for how store listing and ad creative work together

• Hands-on GA4 and Google Tag Manager implementation, including server-side setups

• Experience with structured creative testing and video performance ads

• Practical use of AI tools in the campaign, analysis or creative workflow

What we offer

• Real ownership and responsibility from day one

• Accounts where mobile UA is the main discipline rather than a side channel, with budgets big enough to test properly

• Colleagues who act as sparring partners. Hard client questions get more than one brain on them

• The advantages of our Google Premier Partner and Meta Business Partner status: fast escalation paths, policy support, platform events and access to betas

• A structured onboarding manual and a team that takes knowledge transfer seriously

• Access to paid AI and marketing tools

• Genuinely flexible hours and a free choice between working from home anywhere in Austria and using our Vienna office

• Room to grow into technical implementation, creative strategy or larger client relationships, depending on where your interest goes

Working model

This is a full-time role at 38.5 hours per week, based in Austria, with genuinely flexible hours and a free choice between working from home anywhere in Austria and using our Vienna office. We cannot offer this role to candidates based outside Austria. If you are a strong fit but looking for part-time from 30 hours, tell us in your application and we will discuss it.

Start date

As soon as possible. Tell us your earliest possible start when you apply.

Compensation

For this position, the collective agreement (Kollektivvertrag Werbung und Marktkommunikation Wien, Verwendungsgruppe 3) sets a minimum gross salary of EUR 2,543.40 per month on a full-time basis of 38.5 hours per week, pro-rated for part-time. Creditable previous experience can raise this. We are willing to pay significantly above the minimum, depending on your qualifications and experience.

How to apply

Send your CV to daniel@scalista.com. Instead of a long cover letter, tell us in a few lines about one app campaign you improved: what the situation was, what you changed, and how you knew it worked.

We read every application ourselves and reply to all of them.
