About the Role

The Performance Solutions Engineer is responsible for supporting customer performance projects and fleet monitoring activities through the analysis of operational vessel data, the development and maintenance of analytical tools, and the preparation of reliable technical outputs.
The role combines operational data analysis, engineering interpretation and analytical automation to support the Performance Solutions team in delivering accurate, scalable and consistent solutions for customers and internal stakeholders.
Working closely with Performance Engineering, Software Engineering and Advanced Analytics, the position operates independently within established methodologies while contributing to their continuous improvement and supporting the development of more efficient analytical processes and tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the availability, quality and consistency of vessel operational data for performance assessments and customer projects.

  • Analyse vessel performance using operational data, vessel documentation and engineering knowledge.

  • Investigate data inconsistencies, operational anomalies and performance deviations, escalating complex findings when required.

  • Translate analytical findings into clear technical conclusions and actionable recommendations.

  • Develop and improve dashboards, automated reports and analytical tools for customer projects and fleet monitoring.

  • Contribute to the standardization, automation and continuous improvement of analytical methodologies and workflows.

  • Support tool testing and validation, and maintain clear, reusable technical documentation.

  • Deliver accurate technical analyses, reports and customer project documentation within agreed timelines.

  • Explain findings to relevant stakeholders and provide technical input to commercial discussions led by the Performance Solutions Manager.

  • Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to resolve issues, validate findings and share knowledge.

Experience 

  • Relevant experience analysing operational, engineering or vessel performance data. 

  • Experience developing or maintaining analytical tools, dashboards, automated reports or technical workflows. 

  • Experience working with complex datasets and identifying data-quality issues. 

  • Experience supporting multidisciplinary technical investigations. 

  • Experience preparing technical analyses and communicating findings to internal stakeholders. 

Technical Competencies 

  • Operational and vessel performance analysis. 

  • Python and data analysis tools. 

  • Data validation and quality assessment. 

  • Data visualization. 

  • Analytical workflow automation. 

  • Technical problem-solving. 

  • Technical reporting and documentation. 

  • Microsoft Excel. 

Nice to have

  • Experience analysing vessel operational or maritime performance data. 

  • Knowledge of vessel performance, fuel consumption and energy-efficiency concepts. 

  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau or equivalent visualization platforms. 

  • Experience with MATLAB, SQL, APIs or data-processing pipelines. 

  • Exposure to machine learning, predictive analytics or advanced statistical modelling. 

  • Experience within maritime decarbonization, renewable energy or industrial technology environments.
