Permit Expediter & CAD Drafting Specialist

All Talentz is looking for an organized, technically skilled, and detail-oriented Permit Expediter & CAD Drafting Specialist to manage permit applications and create permit-ready drawings for residential reconstruction projects.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of CAD, Xactimate sketches, residential construction, and general structural requirements, while working closely with Restoration Project Managers to move projects from initial scope through permit approval.

All required software and technology will be provided by the company.

• Manage permit applications from submission through approval.
• Convert Xactimate sketches into CAD and permit-ready drawings.
• Create and revise floor plans, elevations, dimensions, and basic construction details.
• Work closely with Restoration Project Managers to understand project scope and requirements.
• Provide clear weekly updates on active permits and identify outstanding requirements.
• Communicate with municipalities, plan reviewers, engineers, contractors, and project managers.
• Address plan-review comments, corrections, and missing information proactively.
• Research permitting requirements across different jurisdictions.
• Identify when drawings or structural conditions require engineering input.
• Maintain accurate and well-organized project files.
  

• Must have completed a first degree from a recognized institution.
• Must have completed NYSC.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or comparable CAD software.
• Ability to read and create residential construction drawings.
• Working knowledge of Xactimate sketches.
• General knowledge of residential construction and structural requirements.
• Experience in permitting, drafting, construction, restoration, architecture, or engineering is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Excellent problem-solving and research skills.
• Strong communication and follow-through.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
• Strong ownership and ability to manage tasks with minimal supervision.
  

You take ownership of your projects, communicate consistently, solve problems proactively, and keep permits moving.

You should be able to take a project from Xactimate sketch and scope → CAD/permit drawings → permit submission → approval, while keeping the Restoration Project Manager informed throughout the process.
