This might be a good role for you.
We're partnering with a growing mineral exploration and mining company to find a Permitting Manager to lead the company through its permitting pipeline across multiple western states. This is a high-visibility role for a permitting professional who thrives on steering complex projects from early-stage drilling authorization through feasibility and into production.
About the Role:
This role will oversee permitting strategy and execution across BLM, state, and federal jurisdictions — with a strong emphasis on drilling permits and federal land-use authorizations. You'll be the internal expert steering projects through every phase of the permitting lifecycle, from initial exploration drilling through resource delineation and into production-stage approvals.
Travel is required (roughly 20–25%, higher for New Mexico & Nevada-based projects).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead permitting strategy and execution for drilling, exploration, and production-stage mining projects across BLM and state/federal jurisdictions
- Navigate and ensure compliance with mining law, BLM regulations, EPA requirements, and additional federal regulatory bodies as applicable
- Manage the full permitting lifecycle — from early drilling authorizations through feasibility studies and into production permitting
- Coordinate with internal technical teams and external agencies to keep projects moving through approval timelines
- Track and advise on regulatory developments across multiple western states to support project planning and relocation/siting decisions
What We're Looking For:
- 10+ years of permitting experience, with a strong track record in mining and/or drilling permitting specifically
- Working knowledge of mining law and BLM permitting processes across all phases
- Experience permitting in western states — Nevada, Utah, Montana, Idaho, Arizona, and/or Wyoming strongly preferred; the more states, the better
- Background in solution mining preferred
- Based in the western US with reasonable airport access; experience with additional federal regulatory bodies is a plus
What you get:
- Strong base
- Annual Bonus
- Stock
- Strong healthcare
- Remote flexibility
- The chance to be the authority on all things permitting/regulatory
